Devon Alexander vs. Shawn Porter November 30th
IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander will defend his title against Shawn Porter | Sky Sports
Don't know if anyone saw this, but Alexander has signed to fight Shawn Porter on November 30th for his IBF Welterweight title. I can only assume this means Khan is going to sit out the year and has the Mayweather fight all sewn up for next May.
Re: Devon Alexander vs. Shawn Porter November 30th
This is a grudgematch so hopefully we will see alexander bring the heatfor a change like he said he will.
These two supposedly have beef from that goes back to their young amatuer days. Alexander's people lied about his age and set him up to fight porter who was two years younger.. porter lost and his people have been bitter for being lied to..
Porter is just ok fighter I guess but I think alexander will beat him again.. too much experience..
Re: Devon Alexander vs. Shawn Porter November 30th
I take it that Khan bitched out then, Alexander used to be a fun fighter to watch, but when you still manage to be boring as shit while facing Maidana of all people, well that doesn't bode well for your future fights

funny how that's not what they said when Bradley moved up to 147 in his quest for a fight against Pacquiao opting not to fight Khan at 140 :-X
Alexander beats Khan, and Mayweather well is going to retire him if he does in fact get his hands on him, the fact that well Khan has now basically became the equivalent of a warm up for Floyd shows where his career is, this time next year Khan will be with 4 losses all but one by KO
despite picking up titles IMO Khan hasn't lived up to the hype that was billed on him when he started his career, got KTFO by a journeyman in Prescott, beat up an ancient Barrera at 135, decent wins over Judah, Malignaggi, and Kotelnik, a gift against Maidana, beat by Peterson, and KTFO by Garcia, while looking like shit against Diaz :-\, hardly a stellar career, he's looked worse after every loss so what hope does he really have against Floyd
Re: Devon Alexander vs. Shawn Porter November 30th
This is bad news for Khan, he would have wanted to fight Alexander for the title, confidence of beating a welterweight and is not a big puncher. The longer the fight was not signed the more chance it was going to fall through. Khan has to fight regularly so he will still fight someone soon.

Call it what you want but he schooled Maidana pretty fucking easily
Re: Devon Alexander vs. Shawn Porter November 30th
Khan needs to fight someone at 147 before floyd, he's silly if he doesn't.

No he doesn't. It'll be stupid if he did. If he fights there's a good chance he loses. The Mayweather fight would be no more

Im not a khan fan but one thing i cant accuse him of is being a ducker.. he fights anybody at any place and his resume speaks for itself.. as a champion, he fought in Peterson's backyard of washington when he didnt have to.. how many other guys would do that?
Why should he risk it against alexander when he can face the best fighter in the world for a career high payday?
Its strictly a business move.. say what u want about khan but he's down as fuck..

I agree, Alexander is too slick for Porter. One thing I do like about Porter is that a loss is unfinished business to him.
Re: Devon Alexander vs. Shawn Porter November 30th
Great match really. But Hell has froze over cause I'm rooting for Alexander. Porter reminds me of an unpolished bloated grade c Mosley :x and has some holes defense wise, loads up a bit wild and stays in place. Devon is alot of things but hes very ring wise and too sharp.

Porter is a poor mans Andre Berto. Less power. Less speed. Less hype. Less successful career

Pretty much. Thought Gomez boxed the shit outta him for a bit. Hes going to load up front heavy like a Berto too, stuck square in a lurch. Bad news.

Exactly! 20 fights at 147 won't prepare him for the beating he'll get from Floyd.
