Refs are costing some fighters their lives by not calling fouls
Somwe fighters will get hit dozens and dozens of times hard and clean behind the neck where the btrainstem and spinal cord merge, dozens of hard shots to the back of the head , even behind the ear shoudl be strictly enforced so we dont lose any nmore boxers. Too many boxers are getting hit repeatedly behind the ear, way back around the side of their heads, and even worse exactly at the back of the skull. Refs arent fucking enforcing the law, arent taking points, fuck the 3 warnings b4 taking a point, I say NO WARNINGS AND TAKE 2 POINTS. These cunts will stop doing this shit fast when they see they will lose 2 points, and the 2nd violation should be 3 points, and so forth.
That Frankie Leal fight makes me sick. 2 clear hard shots to the rear and then the very back of the skull. There is a REASON why rabbit shots are illegal, because they are very dangerous to the health, there is a reason and yet guys like Benn, and guys like Leal's opponent, and how many countless other fighters of MODERN TIMES (b4 somebody chimes in about Marciano hitting behind the head in 1955)...are hitting behind the fucking head and the fucking ref isnt doing shit.
If somebody hit me behind the head in a boxing match I would fucking flip out and either knock the fuck into the press row, or hit him so bad and so low in retaliation I would be DQ'ed/ no motherfucker si going to hit ME behind the fucking head in Marquis of Queensbury rules no fucking way, I am so pissed off right now from all the fucking cheating and shoddy refereeing over the past 10-15 years I am ready to throw some rabbit punches.

I agree with you. But its hard for refs a lot of the time. Some fighters use showing the back of their heads as defense and its their own fault they get hit there. My hatred is the head shots in tight clinches, almost always to the back of the head

Exactly. I can understand fighters targeting the back of the head if that's what is presented to them, even if it's clearly out of frustration. Refs shouldn't tolerate guys leaning over like that as a means of buying time or staying out of harm. It's when guys will initiate a clinch and then rabbit punch during it which pisses me off, that should be an instant point deduction imo.

I actually would like to ref.

Me too! I'd never work again after my first fight but I wouldn't stand for any holding or rabbit punches, Id probably DQ half the top fighters out there before the 3rd or 4th round:D

yeah I would have DQ'ed the Klitschkos countless times for dirty tactics, leaning on opponents to sap their energy, pushing their heads down, etc.

It's like all of a sudden rabbit punching was acceptable. Some of those rabbit punches, even when not in a clench, could be well avoided and you can tell the fighter throwing the punch is anticipating the guy bobbing his head-- and then the fighter aims for the back of the head.
We need to be stricter about this. In all of the deaths in the ring, with the exception of the Benny Parrett fight, which I can't really recall it that much but it may be the case as well, all of the fighters that were injured or died got a lot of rabbit punches to the head- glancing and repeated shots to the back of the neck and cranium. A place where you can't protect and a place that is very, very sensitive. That's why they are illegal in the first place.
Re: Refs are costing some fighters their lives by not calling fouls
You don't need hard shots to the back of the neck or on the base of the spine for it to injure you, paralyze you or kill you. A good tap or whack can set something out of place, and then you're pretty much F'd up!!
Re: Refs are costing some fighters their lives by not calling fouls
fighter's deliberately are going for it more and more the past 2 or 3 yrs or so, all i see are rabbit shots, hard ones, and also lots of back-handed punches not being called either lately.
Re: Refs are costing some fighters their lives by not calling fouls
Way back when, rabbit shots were perfectly legal. When I was 10 or 11, a guy I knew that had fought 'when he was young' (as he was 76 in 1974, I'm guessing he fought in 1920, roughly), showed me how he got his nose smashed all over his face. The guy caught my friend's left elbow with his left hand and turned him- as they twisted, if I'm making sense, he backhanded him.
This fight was VERY dirty, and the ref DQ'd Mateen.
