Well it must certainly be the highest total purse for a bout where both fighters are coming off a loss, by far I'd imagine. Say what you will about boxing, but there is no other way on earth someone as thick and pedestrian as Rios could ever make 4 million dollars for a nights work.

One of the big purse boxing event in Asia was years ago, in 1990 Mike Tyson v James "Buster" Douglas fight in Japan. "Iron Mike" Tyson banked US$6 million for the fight, while Douglas made US$1.3 million.
