Absolute noob.
Hello. I'm completely and utterly new to boxing. I've started with a trainer, done two classes and whatnot. Thing is, I'm really unfit. Like, I'm say, 10 pds overweight, not a big deal or anything, I can jog for ages and stuff. But whenever I go to his class, it's so flat out that I'm gassed rather quick. It's frustrating.
Anyway, I figured I'd ask this forum, was on here and there seemed to be a lot of people helping each other and so forth.
So, ideas to increase my stamina (remembering I'm coming from a low level of fitness)? And just tips and advice for a complete beginner.
Anyway, thanks for your help,
Chris

Re: Absolute noob.
Just keep going to the gym and working hard. First, boxing itself will get you fit quick enough. Second, you'll start to relax. You say you can jog for ages but tire quickly doing boxing drills. Probably because you are tense- that will drain you fast. When you learn to get loose your stamina will increase dramatically.

Re: Absolute noob.
I second what grey says, for me it was trying to punch hard and using strength by tensing my upper body muscles, it pretty much gasses you immediately, and what you think intuitively is powerful, is actually as weak as fcuk.
When you have your hips down and you completely relax your upper body, you will find the "flat out pace" will become a reasonable challenge or even too easy, instead of impossible.
