I always liked above the rim and menace to society. Watching them back years latr they are truly shite but I still loves um.
I also like Jasons Lyric, Forrest Whitaker is a brilliant drunk.
Re: Your favorite urban/hood movies
To be honest, I only liked those american hood films while I was a very young teenager and didnt have much exposure to hip hop. Now it's as saturated as it is (or had got) they bore me.
Having said that, tow of my fave films are ill manors and anuvahood ;D

The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland is a bonafide classic. It is already teaching my Grandson some valuable lessons.Chloe is not your friend. Never become too attached to a blanket. "Together Forever" is all very well on the street (Sesame) but not everyone follows that code (Grouchland) and even those that do will conviently forget the lyrics as soon as Burt and Ernie have left the room.

Hah agreed, I like Forrest Whitaker in most anything also. My pick for this was actually "Ghost Dog" starring him, he plays a modern day samurai/hit man for the mafia who lives on a roof and raises pigeons Tyson style, pretty good movie imo.

Re: Your favorite urban/hood movies
American Me, though a film claiming to be based on real events shouldn't make up so much stuff.
