After the Broner loss... Garcia vs. Thurman.
I could have sworn I saw a Garcia vs. Broner super-fight in the making. It can still happen, but probably won't mean as much as it would have meant if both were undefeated.
Broner is not back down to the middle of the pile, but he sure isn't A+ anymore. I would still put him at a border line A-.
So, what say yea about Garcia vs. Thurman for 2014, probably late September? Do they both need tune up fights before it happens, or can we start to have discussions about next up?
Throw E. Lara in the mix and we can have something. Here's how it can shape up-
Tune ups: Broner vs Thurman and Garcia vs. Lara... who ever comes out of the pile of that four-way, fights for ALL of the marbles and showdowns with Alexander, Bradley and/or Peterson.

Oh definitely. Garcia will end up at ww sometime next year and a bout with thurman is a must. Two young guns at the top peak of their game facing off. What more can you ask for!
Thurman has been elevating his game and he aint no one dimensional, overrated, ponytailed chump like lucas.
This is a real fight where garcia can easily lose..

Yea. I think most of us would admit that while garcia isnt exceptionally good in one area, he's good at everything he does..
I lean towards thurman too..
And despite what some may think, I dont think garcia has thunderous punching power at 140.. and I dont believe his power will dramatically change at 147.. he's going to have to box more at the higher weights but I dont think too much of his boxing ability..

Garcia wills himself to win. Always. Remember that.
Re: After the Broner loss... Garcia vs. Thurman.
The diff between Broner and Garcia at this stage is that when Garcia faced a stiff puncher in Lucas, Garcia came out on top- weathered the early storm and fought back.
Broner faced a stiff puncher in Maidana, and wilted. Tried to come back but could not rise to the challenge.
Now, you may not wanna put Maidana and Matthysse on the same level- but I do, to a large extent. Because, the story could have gone either way with regard to Garcia fighting Maidana and vice versa for Broner and Lucas.
Re: After the Broner loss... Garcia vs. Thurman.
I gained bookoo respect for Thurman lastnight. Kid acts like a pro and made solid adjustments. Needs some work still and must learn to relax. Seemed a little mentally scattered. Shoot, I'll take a Thurman-Maidana fight. Very solid style clash. I think Garcia has reaped something huge in his next go..showed top focus and execution of a game plan, even though I can't stand him.
Broner shouldn't be thinking about any of them right now. The kid needs to shoulder this set back, adjust and grow the fook up instead of being puffed up like he can just clap his hands and treat it like a bad dream. The premature 'S' was ripped off his chest and right now all the valuable, lasting learning he needs and has to hear doesn't have alot to do with the ring.
