Deontay Wilder is stepping it up a bit...
Deontay Wilder Aims To Make a Statement in Puerto Rico - Boxing News
So Wilder faces Scott , finally somebody respectable faces Wilder. How have we got this one falling into shape? Wilder needs a big KO here to make a statement, or will Scott be able to box his way into this fight?

Still the Chisora TKO loss makes it a lil hard to pick him here.
He COULD pull off the upset but ill pick Wilder as I hope he can be the next big thing.
Agree I expect Wilder to stop him. Hopefully Scott can box well and handle him for a few rounds so we can see how Wilder can deal with a good fighter. Scott cant punch tho so I fear Wilder will be able to walk him down easily

i hope scott is good enough to avoid wilders bombs for 5 or 6 rounds
Re: Deontay Wilder is stepping it up a bit...
Thing was Chisora isn't a big puncher. The punch Chisora landed on Scott wasn't that flush... Scott should have gotten up from that by the count of 5 or 6 and not at the brink of 10.
If Wilder lands on him he may not get up at all...
Scott needs to box and stay away from the right hand...
Re: Deontay Wilder is stepping it up a bit...
This is a good step up. They picked Scott because he can't punch and he'll give Wilder rounds. It's a winnable fight for Wilder. Frankly, it's also the best fight on an otherwise lame card.

At least it's a move in the right direction. Golden Boy have been threatening to put him in with Arreola for at least his last two fights but obviously don't think he's ready. He looked shaky at times last time out and I'm not sold on him at all but he's by far the most exciting heavyweight out there.

Tbh honest mate, Chisora has pretty good power, the issue was he was always out of shape.
Just he's sorted himself out and he's currently on a 4 fight KO streak.
Wilder stops Scott round 4 or 5 would be my pick.

Wilder by KO in 4 or less

Chisora has wear you down kinda power. Sorta like Cesar Chavez. But not bone crunching power to stop someone from advancing.
Scott has no power. Just enough to sting and move away. Can he run all night? Perhaps for about 4 or 5 rounds, but sooner or later, like Wilder did to Kelvin Price, he will connect. How Scott reacts to that connection is the issue. And, thus far, he hasn't responded well to being hit by a lighter punching heavyweight in Chisora. He reacted poorly.
Re: Deontay Wilder is stepping it up a bit...
Malik Scott has nothing to fend off Wilder with....nothing. In order to win he'll need to slip and counter and do it very effectively and I just don't see that happening.
Chisora has little real power, he's a pressure fighter, his power comes from slowing the other fighter down with footwork and volume and tiring them out.
Deontay Wilder knows no fear in the ring....that will change one day, but right now he's just a beast and Malik is going to be demolished quickly and violently
Re: Deontay Wilder is stepping it up a bit...
I just hope these two aren't all buddy buddy after Scott was brought in for sparring after the Chisora fight. How Scott prepares you for a shot liakovich I'll never know and Wilder says he's 'like a brother'...Scott better realize its his future he needs to show up for, bring fire! He looks like a guy who wears his doubts openly and pure backseat boxing isn't beating Wilder. Glazkov got his attention repeatedly and Chisora caught him mentally napping. Wilder should win this handily and inside of 3.
