according to sparring mates like Mikey Garcia, Valero punched harder than Pac
Garcia isnt the only fighter to make this claim.. many fighters around LA has sparred both valero and pac and they say Pac's power isnt half of what valero's usdd to be..
I know pac's power came from speed but im just saying... he is lucky not to have fought the Venomous one cuz that would have been the end of him..
Inside sources say there were two fighters that pac didnt want to face.. The Venomous one and In Jin Chi...

Even brandon rios who rarely has anything good to say about anyone praises the power of the venomous one..

El Inca transforms into his boxer-puncher mode

Pac dont have the boxing skills of The venomous one..
Maybe im just a lil bias cuz ive trained by his side before and chatted up with him but real recognizes real straight the fuck up.
Re: according to sparring mates like Mikey Garcia, Valero punched harder than Pac
I don't doubt it, Valero was stone fisted for sure. But Pac was head and shoulders above him as a fighter.

Do you think every pro fighter spars with the same intensity or that every pro spars all out every round?
I'm thinking that Valero, who might have enjoyed sparing more than the average pro, was sparing all out, whereas Manny was not.
What do you think?
Boxers spar to work on different aspects of their game and to tuneup their skills so they are not going to go all out everytime but when you spar with somebody multiple rds for weeks and months , you can easily gauge their punching power and get a feel for what they are about..
Guys who sparred valero and pacquaio can easily judge who the harder puncher is..
Are you implying that pac hits harder punch for punch?

Re: according to sparring mates like Mikey Garcia, Valero punched harder than Pac
It would've been a terrific match-up, and at some point, it would've been made somewhere outside the USA. I think the late Edwin Valero had more punching power than Pacquiao, but he was wild. I can't see him beating Pacquiao, not the way Pacquiao was in 2009, 2010. Pacquiao was above him as a fighter, had way more skills.
Valero was hired as De La Hoya's sparring partner for the Oscar/Pacquiao Dec 2008 fight because Valero was the same size as Pacquaio and both were hard hitting southpaws. He only sparred Oscar 8 rds on the one training session, beat him up, gave Oscar a blackeye. Then Oscar didn't spar him anymore, and Valero was removed from the training camp. Valero didn't reveal this stuff during the training camp, but just before the fight when they ask people how the fight's going to go, Valero gave his assessment and said Pacquiao was going to stop Oscar.
Valero was a world-class fighter, but unfortunately he was a gol durn nut.
The terrible crime scene photographs of his beautiful wife who died an extremely violent death at Valero's hands, they'll haunt you.

Pacquaio is wild too in his own ways and was even worse back then.. I dont see an area where pac has the upperhand except for speed, and I definitely do not think he's more skilled..
Interesting u mentioned the hoya fight cuz valero placed a huge bet on pacaquaio and came up big. He knew wsup after sparring the guy..
Poor girl.. Valero's girl was pretty hot in a poor village girl type of way.. she was cute

Not at all. I was suggesting that a fighter who actually enjoys sparring might be throwing harder punches.
Pacs also a nice guy, so perhaps when he sparring his gym partners he pulls his punches. From what I gather Valero is a prick..just saying

Some of you really do not want to give Valero any credit huh lol..
So are you saying that pac hits harder but his kind heart makes him pull back in sparring?
I think we should all agree that power comes in many forms. Pac's power is generated by speed while Valero is very heavy handed..
If Valero is George Foreman, pacquaio is Mike tyson...
I think this calls for a tribute.. some of you might not have seen this footage but heres one with play by play commentary by Dougie fisher..
