Ruiz beat the hell out of him that round!
I thought this thread would feature Tua :p
Hagler doesn't do it for you, but Ruiz does....
Lol
the funny thing is that ruiz would be the #2 HW easily now.
anyone remember that one guy who posted on how great John Ruiz is on this forum a few years back. He also wrote a book. What happened to him?
Remember Ruiz faked a good body shot he received against Holyfield pretending he was hit low. I hated him ever since.
John Ruiz was underrated. Obviously he's not going to go down as one of the best HWs of all time, but I don't think he was nearly as bad as most people think he was.
He had an ugly/boring style, but he could get the job done for the most part.
To be fair, he got absolutely ROBBED vs Valuev, and lost to a roided-up drug cheat Toney.
David Haye murdered him, but he was nearly 40 and at the end of his career.
Ruiz had exceptional movement for a HW- aside from the time he got caught cold by David Tua. But, after the Tua fight, he kept on moving with brilliance- the better movement guys in the business.
There, I said something nice...
