Just when I was ready to like Chavez
He fought a hell of a fight against a tough Vera. I thought that Bulshit in the 12 th though was in poor taste vs an opponent who took your hardest shots and kept coming. I don't mind being on the defensive knowing you have the cards but the clowning and taunting was just in poor taste I thought. That aside, this was a great fight to watch

Agreed. It wasn't loathsome like some of the shit Broner has pulled or Malinaggi used to pull.
Chavez was a lil bit of a crybaby to the ref, but otherwise he fought a good, clean fight and won fair and square this time.
Vera is still a bad ass though. Just smiled, laughed and kept on coming.

Very fair assessment, Junior is a prick.

He won me over a little.... but the running in the 12th was a bit unbearable to watch. jmo... he didn't need all of that. He had Vera really hurt in the 11th. Good showing by him for about 11 rounds.
Harold Ledderman just doesn't like the guy, though... lolololol.....
Re: Just when I was ready to like Chavez
But, it seems to me that Chavez Jr. came COMMITTED to winning a technical boxing match... he wasn't aggressive, he didn't put too much on his shots, he didn't swarm Vera, he just won on good, clear and clean shots.
Give it up to Chavez Jr.
Re: Just when I was ready to like Chavez
Well.... his awkward attempts at bolo punches.... his comical sprints away from Vera.... his ridiculous shuffling of his feet. He was trying to look the part of the boxer who's boxed his opponents ears off.... then cruises to victory in the last round. Problem is..... Junior couldn't "box" his way out of a paper bag. Advice: Don't try to be someone you're not. It just makes you look like a damn fool.
