Bryan Vera says he trained for 10 rounder, only told 4 days before it would be 12
Boxing News | Chavez Jr: I proved to all the people I’m a better fighter than Bryan Vera
Apparently he said it at the post fight presser that the bout was changed from a 10 rounder to a 12 rounder just 4 days before the fight. Did Arum shaft him here or is it just sour grapes?
Re: Bryan Vera says he trained for 10 rounder, only told 4 days before it would be 12
wouldn't be shocked by any means if this shit is true, Arum is a sack of shit and would try and give his little silver spooned prized possession any advantage he could
Re: Bryan Vera says he trained for 10 rounder, only told 4 days before it would be 12
id like to know how much of a difference this would make anyway
appart from perhaps mental
surely he should have been an absolute tip top condition no matter what, he should have been training for 15 rounds
Re: Bryan Vera says he trained for 10 rounder, only told 4 days before it would be 12
If true, it is very bad. 2 rounds is a lot and if you know your tank isn't quite up for it, you will start a little more slowly and he did this time out. Chavez got the headstart and didn't look back. Vera was outworked in most of the rounds, but in a 10 rounder he would have come out faster and been confident of keeping it going. Maybe, maybe not. But that's like thinking you are going to work 9-5 and then at the last minute find you have several hours of overtime. It wasn't part of the original deal. But again, maybe it was. I've no idea.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least.
Promoters do everything they can to protect their big money makers.

For a guy who was just robbed going in with the same guy, he should have been training like it was a 15 rounder. This sounds like a trainer or politician talking.
