While it's easy to bash Chavez Jr...
... let us remember that there are OTHER progenies of former great fighters that aren't so good.
Pryor, MgGirt, Foreman, Frazier and Hearns have kids that entered the fight game and wasn't nearly half as good.
So, give it up to Chavez Jr. for not being a total wash out. He's actually a little respectable and plays the same game the other guys play- but without all of the media hype because of who he is and who is father is.

Did you seriously just say that?? OMG... where do these statements come from?
Would you like the reasons it's "easy to bash Chavez Jr." in alphabetical order?
He has a bloated record, carefully crafted to maintain a bogus undefeated record... blown to bits and exposed when he got schooled by Sergio Martinez.
He's a repeat cheater... suspended for diuretics use... refusing to take mandatory piss tests... and routinely showing up to fights 30 pounds heavier than his opponent. That might be ok in sumo wrestling, but not in boxing.
He certainly HAS ridden his daddy's coattails. Protected and coddled not only by his famous daddy... but by the late scumbag of all scumbags.... José Sulaiman.... Junior's godfather and Chavez Sr.'s lifelong chum.
He's lazy and undisciplined. No serious trainer would last 2 fights with ol' Melon Head were it not for Daddy's intervention and deep pockets.
His fans make it easy to bash Junior. Many of them are blind, ignorant.... and ride Junior's member like a cowboy at a rodeo. We got a couple of those right on this very forum.

ykdadamaja must have missed all the help and support the WBC have given Junior.
Re: While it's easy to bash Chavez Jr...
i only agree to the extent that chavez isnt as bad as a lot of sons of former fighters. he isnt the worst fighter, but if it werent for his name, he would never even get fights because of his cheating, lack of training, and whining.

The only way he has cheated is due to his enourmous weight gain... but this time he came in shape and was very clean vs. Vera and still won a lopsided decision- would have been worse if he wasn't clowning around.

he cheated because he used diuretics and then also avoided multiple post fight drug tests. so yes, the weight issue was a cheating advantage for him.
