This is an odd fight. Loma is literally 0-1, but faced a tougher opponent than Russell who is 24-0. I know De La Hoya wants to do business with Top Rank. I don't know about vice versa, and I don't know about if Schaeffer wants to do business with Arum either. I'm not as high on Russell Jr. as many people are, but Loma might need a few more professional bouts because professional experience matters. I feel odd that Russell Jr. was moved soooo slowly. Don't you? I wonder how excited Russell Jr. is for this fight. Quite frankly, this is a big step up for Russell Jr.

Rusell gives me the same impression that kell brook does. Although I dislike their resumes, I believe in their abilities.

I believe Russell is better than loma..

I would step aside if I was Loma.... put some half-way decent bums on your resume. I would wait until I get 12 and 1 before I get in there with another top flight guy- just to get some bums under my belt.

loma just needs to be careful that he doesnt turn into a has been before he even has 5 fights. this is a risky fight for him. i think that he could win it but if he loses, he will have a lot of making up to do.

beating guys with a 25-3 rec dont count. Only losses to world champions. I guess that makes Russell 0-0

It's a risky fight for both though because Russel hasn't faced anyone good yet. It's even riskier for Russel because Loma at least has those 400-0 he can brag about, even though it was in the amateurs.

On a sidenote, Russel's camp once mentioned their keen interest in fighting Gamboa, exploiting his flaws and that. Unfortunately, that never happened. Russel-Loma suits me though.
