Friend of mine says he discovered gold mine
This dude went to hot springs with his girl somewhere in northern Cali close to bakersfield and says he got lost and stumbled upon a gold mine..
He says its a secluded area that nobody knows about ... supposedly, tiny pieces of gold rises to the surface from the hot spring water ..
I laughed at him and told him he's tripping but I know he isnt the type to bullshit and im sure that he knows how gold feels like.. he swears its pure gold..
He wants to buy a gold panning equipment and wants us to go on a mission but im not sure about this. Im very skeptical.
What do u think?

Make sure you bring some beers, a lot, either way it would be cool! but you probably gonna looks like two moron with mining equipment on in the hot springs!

Its easy to stake a claim that has to do be done first.
Look up the local laws and go peg it out,its yours then ,stop telling people about it and secure it first.
Theres old gold mines here too they are everywhere in the bush about 100 k inland and the more advanced the detectors become the more people can find each year. New detectors can penetrate further with exact mineral detection now,theres little guess work and its opened up old ground to be gone over once more.
People have even found gold stashed up in the hollow of old trees where the old miners have left it and then died.
What you say isnt so far fetched as it may seem stranger things happen.Get a sample tested.
Shit there are people who dig rubies out of the sides of hills on this coast every weekend.
Its no biggie either way,but they keep looking and hoping it becomes a biggie cause they have the time and the addiction.

For crying out loud can you both just keep it to yourself!
Its not uncommon out here in the outback to go to certain peoples homes and see the little gold nuggets they've found or old film tubes with gold dust in them from panning rivers.
I suppose that sort of thing is very rare in England?

My uncle spent a summer fishing, camping and panning for gold in the Sierras. Some place not far from Bishop. I still have a couple nuggets that he brought back. Where I live now, there are a lot of mining claims in the mountains, from the old days. There are two operating commercial gold mines. One is east of here, near the town of Whitehall, while the other is south, in the Highland Mountains.
