Favourite video game?

We can go back to atari st, amiga or megadrive but whats your favourite type of game you like spending hours on?

I dont get any time to play on my xbox 360 anymore (kids, 7 day working) but I need to find an hour to do so and possibly buy the new version or try another brand.

If i do get the time, i used to play gears of war online or fight night champion.

But what i really like to play is lord of the rings (command and conquer type game) and any other type of game that you can build your army or troops or building against an opponent.

Are there any new games out on the new consoles that are like cannon fodder, command and conquer, halo wars that would keep me entertained for eternity?

Either way, what games do you enjoy playing the most..past or present.

Or do you think they are just a waste of life?

I played Street fighter and mortal combat, forgot what console it was. I was a beast at it in the arcades.

My kids play Bat Man and Lego star wars, marvel, Harry Potter ect.

NHL 94 on Mega Drive

Streetfighter was awesome ryu and ken..perfecting the fireball on the joypad was thumb burning

I have a PS 1 which I will keep and sell as a collectors item.

Im not much of a game person but I did play a few when I was a kid..

Metal Gear 1

CastleVania

I also enjoyed Phantasy Star for Sega Genesis .. Then I got into Tomcat Alley for Sega CD..

Street Fighter 2

Mortal Kombat

Fatal FUry

Samurai Showdown

I got into NEG GEO for a while too... then 3DO

Last game that got me hooked was Counter Strike.. I used to play at PC Cafes and guys would get into real gunfights over this game haha.. This one dude got stabbed for pissing somebody off..

Koreans in LA get very serious about counter strike. lol

me neither = power play ? icing ?!? wtf

was so simple to play though and Jeremy Roenick was a one man outfit ! I tried getting into it again 2-3 years ago on ps3 version 2010 or whatever. Couldnt get into it and had eve less of a clue what was going on.

Maybe i should try again on ps4

The Last of Us, FightNight Champion, Uncharted series, GTA series. As a kid the games were great, but the games of today have so much more depth. Gaming has become an adult hobby.

I cant get into GTA but i can play on horde on gears of war forever..or even mario kart!
