Bernard to Stevenson: " I'm coming to Canada. I'm getting my papers together "

"Stevenson, I'm coming to Canada. I'm getting my papers together," stated unified WBA & IBF light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins, who made it clear that he's looking forward to unifying his titles with WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson. Fresh off of his victory over Beibut Shumenov, Hopkins wasted no time in stating his desire to once again be crowned undisputed champion before his 50th birthday.

"Let me tell you what I'm looking forward to. [Stephen] Espinoza, to me, is the shrewdest and the smartest business man, along with Al Haymon, and of course my man here first, he's the first of the ship and that's Richard Schaefer," Hopkins explained. "We are with Showtime until I end my career and whatever big fight it is, I want to be the undisputed light heayvweight champion of the world before 50...Richard got the date."

He got knocked out by Boone in Maryland I think and has fought in Vegas once or twice.

Hopkins is a legend but he cant put any combos together which might be his downfall in this fight.

Adonis better have a good chin and he better be ready to take a solid shot in order to force a fast pace. If he is chinny at all Hop is going to get him. Dawson, Joe c, n Taylor went all out n just out hustled Hop, none ever really hurt him. There is a chance that Adonis has just been matched up with the right guys at the right time. It will be an interesting fight. If Hop beats Kovalev n Stevenson Floyd n Manny need to do something HUGE to justify a higher historical ranking.

You dont need a " great chin " to beat the current hopkins cuz he is far from a puncher.. Does taylor and dawson have great chins?

You just need to set a high pace and force him to fight out of his comfort zone..

Can he cross the border, being a convicted felon?

Although Bernard did good n won last night thus picking up another title, Adonis is still THE champ having KOd Dawson.

If Bernard beats Stevenson and I think he can then WOW!

It's gonna be very risky and hard though as Stevenson can box and really punch.

He's not much of a KO threat, no.

But he still punches hard enough to sting guys pretty good. Makes em hesitant to rush him.

It's because he packs enough of a wallop to keep em honest. He can still hurt you and drop you as evidenced by last night.

You guys misinterpreted my comment regarding Stevensons chin. If he is chinny, Hop still has the punch to shake him up or discourage him. Old school Hop would use that opening to unload n force the stoppage. Current version of Hop uses that to make Adonis hold his hands for fear of getting caught. He hits hard enough to discourage guys n slow the pace down to his comfort level. If Adonis is chinny, he takes the shot n then hesitates to unload for fear of getting caught again.
