Not to put Floyd in with a southpaw ever again? I guess it was after floyds first pro fight against a southpaw. Who was that southpaw and is there truth to Floyds struggle against southpaws? Corley and Judah are never mentioned as great fights floyd came out on top in. He got tagged pretty good by these two and even drop by Judah. When people say Floyd never over came adversity, I dont think they saw these fights. I think Floyd prove he has a great chin, mental toughness and heart in these fights. He fought through and over came.
Other honorable mention: Ofcourse Castillo, cotto, dela hoya and Maidana.
Somebody name that first southpaw though cause I never seen that fight. Post a vid too if possible.

Mayweather has fought many southpaws, but some were in the early part of his career and they were low-tier opponents as he was learning his trade.

It's just logical really. Any fighter who uses the shoulder roll as a first line of defence is going to have a harder time when the straight power shots are coming from the other side, it takes that away and makes for a very different fight. Just take the stance and imagine being in against a lefty, the shoulder only works against the jab and right hook all of a sudden. Judah and Corley were able to have the most success because they had the speed and timing to make Floyd lead and counter him I think. Ortiz and Guerrero just aren't cagey like that at all, although even Victor was having some success coming forward for a little bit.
