Who should Golovkin Fight ?

It seems the WBA have made Jarrod Fletcher the mandatory even though Golovkin is apparently due to fight Geale. World Boxing News - Fletcher made Golovkin mandatory, says he won’t step aside for Geale

With Sturm fighting and defending the IBF belt on the 31st of this month and Martinez due to fight Cotto who should Golovkin fight?

geale and kessler seem to be more likely, both of which id be excited about watching

Geale is the best option for Golovkin. A known quantity, recent world champ at his own weight.

Its at the least a good treading water fight hopefully leading to a Martinez unification.

Although, why not Quillin? Thats a unification but is Quillin a big enough name to make the money worth the risk for Golovkin?

A Geale fight seems the most likely and yes I would like to see him fight Quillen, The Sturm/Soliman winner and Martinez. I think he is more than capable of beating all of them and it would be refreshing to see someone clean up a division and unify for a change. The chances of it happening with rival promoters, TV Stations and Politics is not very high though. I do not think Sturm or Quillen want to fight him and Sergio has to get past Cotto without picking up more injuries first and I can see that becoming a very messy fight.

Kessler, to get that first loss under his belt.

Then grow from there :)

GGG needs to fight Quillen, then Sergio/Cotto and Sturm.

Geale then the Martinez-Cotto winner.

I also think Geale is the best option for his next opponent :) a win there and his team needs to do everything possible to get either the Sturm-Soliman or Martinez-Cotto winner in the ring :cool:

Golovkin vs Quillin needs to happen. And I think we can start pointing juuuust a few of the arrows and spears aimed at Quillin for 'iffy opposition' in Gennadys direction personally.

Geale is the best option for GGG because i don't think he will stop him, Geale is a tough nut and while i don't think he can beat GGG, i'm pretty confident GGG won't knock him out. Geale will be a good test for Golovkin. It's a good fight for the fans.

Id rather talk about the realistic matchups only..

He can fight the winner of Sturm-Soliman, Geale, or if he has balls, he should take on Kessler..

Id like to see him fight Kessler TBH.. Sturm would get knocked out and Geale is a B- level fighter..

Sturm has avoided GGG so much that he should be embarrassed.

Quillin and the main reason is he has a title and unification matches bring out the beast in some fighters. Because he is out there calling everyone chump, he ought to be given the chance to prove his allegations or confirm that empty barrels make the most noise.

Geale especially would be a good test, because he's just such a crafty, gutsy bastard. Least from the lil bit I've seen.


GGG would probably still beat him up, but who knows, Geale would have a shot.
