This HW division.

I've heard people say over and over that this era of HWs is garbage. Others have said it's only weak because Wlad and Vitali are so dominant. Well, here's my opinion on the matter:

The problem with this era is that we don't really know how good the non-Klitschko fighters are. Haye's best win after losing to Wlad was Chisora. We could have seen how good he is by fighting Fury, but that never happened.

Thompson's best wins are over glass-jawed Price and Solis, who is a prime example of wasted potential.

Povetkin went life and death with Marco Huck, a CW, before fighting Wlad. His best win is Charr, who is extremely limited.

Wilder is still unproven, and there are still some questions about Fury. Fury has fought better opposition, but he didn't exactly look great against Chisora, Abell, and Cunningham. His upcoming rematch with Chisora should tell us more.

Stiverne has two wins over Arreola, but other than that, his resume is poor. No matter whether he or Wilder wins in their fight, they're both unproven.

I went back and watched about 20 fights from the Ali/Norton/Foreman/Frazier etcetera era. Then about 15 from the early 90s a few months back in marathon fashion. All I can say is don't do that if you want to tolerate the current division. It's like watching pro and then watching a toughman competition.

The top 10 in the heavyweight scene are terrified of fighting each other and risk out on losing out on the payday that is fighting Wlad. David Haye can just walk back because opponents will want to risk fighting him for the money. Fury could of earned £100, 000 against Pulev in Germany, or £5 million against Haye. Fighting Wlad guarantees millions.

I've said it before, but I think it's worth reiterating. I think Wilder-Fury is THE fight to make at HW. Two huge, young, undefeated HWs with shaky chins. Add Wilder's freakishly powerful right hand and the fact that Fury is easy to hit with right hands and you got an instant classic.

Bar the Kilt brothers the rest are poor and there is no hiding from that fact.

I'm not arguing with you but why do you say Wilder had a shaky chin? I know that's what a lot of us think because they have brought him along so slowly and cautiously.
I absolutely agree with you about Wilder and Fury being the match to make, it would end a lot of fruitless discussions, and get a lot of us behind the right guy.

It's one of the reasons why Stiverne is favored to beat him. Don't forget that Stiverne has power of his own. He stopped Arreola.

dont think thats right.. Povetkin gave eddie chambers his first defeat who is certainly better than charr, he also beat byrd and chagaev, I would say all three of those are better than beating charr..

Personally I think there has started to be a slight change in the division :) the top guys are starting to fight each other more frequently ;D
