Mayweather/Maidana part 2...
Looks like this one is a go. Am I the only one interested in the rematch? I've seen a lot of naysayers, but I hope it will be similar to the first match. I fully expect Mayweather to win, but I like the style he showed last time. I'm also happy that Maidana gets another good payday - he deserves it for the entertainment he's given over his career. Thoughts?
Re: Mayweather/Maidana part 2...
He also deserves it because he gave Floyd all he could handle in their first fight. That must be a requisite for making rematches. If you've been schooled, blown out, totally outclassed..... what's the point in a rematch. I'd definitely watch a Floyd-Maidana rematch.
Re: Mayweather/Maidana part 2...
It was great to see Floyd roughed up like that. It was also great watching PBF adjust and start throwing some serious punches. Everyone expects Floyd to make the usual adjustments and make this one a one-sided affair, a la Castillo II, but I still think Maidana is a very live opponent.
Re: Mayweather/Maidana part 2...
Maidana's performance indicates he deserves a rematch, however i expect a shut out this time...PBF won't be so slack next time around.

I'm still wondering - like a lot of people, I guess - why Floyd was slack the first time. Was it Floyd's age catching up to him? Maidana's aggression? Money wanting to give an exciting show? Combinations of these? I think this next fight will have some interesting answers. I still don't like the Mayweather persona, but damn - the dude can box.

Roughed up?
Dude hardly landed anything.
Cotto and Emmanuel Burton did a better job.

Go watch some fights.
Mayweather fights off the ropes more than any active Champion...he just got away from it when he left Roger.

He actually did rough him up, inside, outside early on and out jabbed the shit outta him in the 8th if I remember right. Floyd adjusted and had a helluva fight. Bcollins gave him full props why don't you try it once in awhile

"outjabbed the shit out of him"
hahahaha
Why don't you visit reality for once in a while.
Maidana was swinging at air like a washerwoman...if you call that roughing him up then yes....he roughed him up plenty.

What did you score it while we're at it..or are ya still behind as far as Mayweather fights since Castillo and all ???
Re: Mayweather/Maidana part 2...
"Roughed up" is not equivalent to "landed copious amounts of clean punches." Since you seem to have trouble understanding basic concepts, I'll elaborate. During the first few rounds, Maidana pushed Floyd to the ropes and threw a high volume of punches at Floyd. Since hitting Floyd clean is like trying to carry water with a fork, the idea is to hit any available surface. Maidana was very successful early on with this tactic. Many boxing fans believe this is one tactic that may prove fruitful against PBF, and Maidana had more success than most applying the tactic. Your examples of Cotto and Augustus are well noted, but not quite the same as brute roughing up. Augustus is awkward, and Cotto was a little more precise and measured in this approach. Maidana swung for the fences, and it was fun to watch.

I would guess 120-108 Mayweather, since Maidana was swinging at air.
Re: Mayweather/Maidana part 2...
I expect a shutout this time. I scored the 1st fight 9 rounds to 3 for floyd I don't think the fight was that close. Throwing a shit load of punches and hitting nothing don't win rounds !

I had it 9-3 or 8-4 too. But Mayweather clearly was roughed up. The cut was nasty and I thought the fight was gonna be stopped when I heard floyd crying in the corner about not being able to see
