Re: Arturo “Thunder” Gatti
A true blood and guts warrior who always tried to give a great show. With cojones like his, I'm surprised he wasn't bowlegged. I hope he rests well.
Re: Arturo “Thunder” Gatti

Re: Arturo “Thunder” Gatti
The way Mayweather dogged him in their fight tarnished the little respect I had for Gatti as a fighter. That beating made him look like the B class fighter he was and we all knew it.

Floyd was the best of his era ; that means you don't respect any other fighter from his time ??? Pathetic.

I didn't say that. But Mayweather made him look like he wasn't even supposed to be in the ring that night. Gatti was exposed for being the B class fighter he was that night. A B class fighter they bloated up to make it seem as if he was ever some top flight talent.

we all knew the only fighter floyd should have fought at one forty was kostya. if you don't respect arturo as a fighter then you haven't seen enough arturo
Re: Arturo “Thunder” Gatti
Loved watching Gatti come up early on the USA network...man we're missing that weekly consistency so much ;D. He didn't have it handed to him early career and was just a year out from crashing the scene and making it his first 'big' fight with Patterson I. People forget at least with Patterson he showed his boxing chops, it wasn't all just brawling for the homerun bricks.

Yeh at that point and weight he did not belong near the ring with Mayweather but a belt ($$) and 'name' opens doors maybe we shouldn't go thru at times. I've always thought of that one similar to a Jones Jr v Pazienza in a way. But fair is to take account of where a guy's career actually is opposed to where they came up from and accomplished getting there. But Kellerman was right about this one.

Floyd did not make many fights with the top fighters of the day and when they did it was when they were old or catchweight.

floyd preferred the demarcus corley's, henry bruseles' & arturo gatti's instead
