Ronnie Shields lost that fight for Lara
He's all over the place saying how canelo wants no part of Lara and how they got screwed, it all comes down to your fighter taking a horrible approach to that fight and that's what lost it. Lara needs to dump shields, he has cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars.

so rather than looking at those that scored this very close fight, or Lara who could have easily followed up with more straight lefts without reply, or Alvarez who was getting boxed silly early and showed the fortitude to adjust his level of aggression and approach to turn it around it's on Shields, got it.

Ronnie Shields is a good guy. But he has two character flaws- 1. He is NOT a good "in-fight" corner man; and 2. He does not play the politics of the game to manoeuvre his fighters in a good position to win close ones.
With the second point, everyone else is manipulating the system- from judges, to home crowd advantage, to softening the ref's to getting the right ring size and preferred gloves.
Shields is not the guy for that. He may be a good gym-work trainer. But he is not the guy for fight time.
