My main concern is the weight of the bag. How heavy should my bag be? I weigh 80kg myself and have a few years of boxing experience so I have a decent punch. I don't want a bag that is too light and I'm not sure how heavy the bags usually are.
If you guys have any tips, advice or recommendations please share.
depends how you gonna hang it (the walls , ceiling height, whatever) and your neighboors. Decent punch? If you punch properly, ideally, the bag should not really move much, just shake, otherwise you are pushing. So, 60-70 kg bag should be ok for you.

Re: Purchasing a heavy bag
Well best thing is go to a store and have a feel for what you like, soft or hard? Size, how much space you have? how much can the ceiling hold? 45-68kg is pretty normal!
Re: Purchasing a heavy bag
You want the bag to move, to swing, so you can work around it. That is how you learn to turn angles and so on, by having to adjust to the motions of the bag. Too heavy of a bag is pointless and just asking for pain in your shoulders and elbows down the road. Also, remember to hang it high enough.
