Boxing Riddle

This one might be too vague but I'm sure some one from this intelligent group will figure it out quickly. I can't overestimate the boxing knowledge throughout this forum so here it is..........
From a Texan snake to a bird of prey I've Ko'd a few animals in the ring. I tangled with one of the best on multiple occasions and although I saw the final bell of each encounter I couldn't keep the lights on in the end. Regarded as the one of the best of the modern era, I stopped a force to be reckoned with in 1990. Who am I?

Bingo, what gave it away for you Al? I should've made it tougher as originally planned.

Well the following -
1. 199O's.
2. Lights out - Toney.
3. Bird of prey - Julian HAWK Jackson.
4. Some of the best multi champs - Jones etc.
5. Always saw the final bell.
6. Texas snake - Donald COBRA Curry.

Here's another Riddle:

I lived too hard, too fast, too young, and never stopped until I was stopped and then stopped again. I took time off, they made me do it, and I wish I did, but wish I didn't. They gave me a raw deal twice, but never gave me the life I deserved.

How was that so hard? lolol... the raw deal should have given it away. That and the living life young and fast.... he was sent away... and was stopped (first by Douglas) an then stopped again right after prison (by Evander), after that Tyson was pretty much done.
