The high number surprised me although as the you will see on the article the ave score was close. I scored it 114-114.
The 117-111 score i feel is far too wide.
so how did you all score the fight?

I rarely score fights, especially big fights, that's why I appreciate what you do so much. It lets me know if I'm seeing what I want to see or what is actually happening in the ring.
I view that 80% as a rejection of the ultra aggressive, bully boy, rough them up, hold them on the ropes, push them around, smother them style of boxing that has made some headway into boxing since the advent of MMA.
Watching Porter try to imitate Mike Tyson with that side to side forward movement was pretty funny.

Brooks won the fight 116_112. He got stronger the longer the fight went on. Porter was horrible.
I can see how Porter gets six rounds, just, but how some of those guys had Porter winning 8 and 9 rounds is a wrongun. They must work for FW.
Brook won the fight by 4 rounds, with more clean effective punches landed.

If Porter's strategy was to get whacked in the face with a two-piece every 15 seconds or so, and then miss all of his flailing shots and holding and hitting arms and hips, then he should have won the fight.
I wasn't actively scoring the fight but I felt that Brook deserved the nod. It's all about EFFECTIVE aggressiveness... sometimes Porter was effective, but most often he was not. Brook landed a lot of good, clean shots.
To me, that was as an impressive victory as you can get because it showed that Brook could operate under INTENSE heat. Porter is a freak of nature and was swarming, mauling and bombing from the start until the final bell and Brook was never rattled, never thrown off, and got the job done.
I agree. A draw is generous for porter but not out of the question. Giving porter 8 or 9 rounds though is a joke.Quote:
