J'Leon Love was never all that to begin with...
... well, he was gonna hit his peak before his title shot anyway. I'm not shocked. Just a little miffed. Miffed with the fact that money and power can push someone to the top in America now, again, where hard-work and talent has to take a back seat.
Love should have been no where NEAR a boxing billing on any network other than NBC or ESPN- and it would have been a struggle to have him feature on the card too.
But, here we have it, something else "pushing" hype jobs other than actual performance.
Love is good. But he is no world beater.
Re: J'Leon Love was never all that to begin with...
Frankly speaking that was one of the most satisfying but brutal knockouts I've seen this year. Just a very sound walking down and punching through a guy who looked like was waiting for the walls to cave in. Badou Jack, Mickey Bey and Love all showing chin issues.
Re: J'Leon Love was never all that to begin with...
He has found his level maybe Broner will find his.

Broner is a helluva lot better than Love. For sure. lololol.... Broner has talent. And had he trained properly before the Maidana match he would have done a lot better.
Broner is better at lightweight.

I mean Love was very humble and respectful to Porky Medina and just got caught.
I suppose all the hate comes from his SD over Rosado and being affiliated with Floyd.
He was on the fortunate end of a decision against Rosado that should have gone to Rosado and he was busted for taking a PED masking agent for that fight. He lost fans because of that. He seemed like a nice enough guy though.

Being a nice guy doesn't mean he was a stellar prospect.

I'm sure he's a stand up family figure but its about his style. Its horrible and the type of smoke n mirrors defense one instinctively roots to see trumped. Especially when he clearly benefited from promotion ties and shifty judges in two of his last four, being hurt badly vs Periban and beat around by Rosado. The failed drug test doesn't help.
Re: J'Leon Love was never all that to begin with...
Love gets hate for a number of reasons.
His style in the ring, his dubious decision against Rosado, his failed drug test, his lucky escape against Periban (if that fight was the other way it would have been stopped), the exposure considering his talent, and the talk of being "1 fight away from a world title fight".
Fans will turn on guys who get forced down their throat.

That and obvious hype jobs... I never took to Bute. I also have yet to warm to Andrade. Floyd is forced down our throats, but Floyd is worth it.

Berto and Broner both seem the same as well, in fact any American dubbed "the future of the sport". Charlo's better watch out as they could be the next to be bitten by this curse...
