After watching floyd tonight and with only a year left of fighting I am starting to wonder who is the next superstar that will stand out from the crowd..
Who would you put say has all the credentials to keep it going.
If he even steps up in competition and proves himself to be legitimate, I think it could be Deontay Wilder.
GGG could be if he would give up the soft seat of middleweight.
Looking for a superstar is much like looking for something you "lost" and always ask about location......stop looking, let it rise and be noticed on his own merit! There are 101 elements we put in a star now. Just let em prove they can fight loud, talk less
Edit: Its sure as fook not Wilder.
Andrew Hartley.
Whoever the powers that be want it to be - basically whoever would make them the most money. Doesn't even have to be the most outstanding talent but just someone people will pay to see over and over again
The three with the biggest potential are Canelo, Keith Thurman and GGG. All three need career-defining wins.
An outside choice but if Eubank Jr keeps winning he has all the ingredients to be massive and in a weight range with plenty of name opponents.
We are looking for a future superstar. So someone who will emerge 2016? When Floyd has left.
Golovkin wont be it. Hes not a big crowd puller now and has held a Belt since 2010!
It might be Keith Thurman or maybe a fighter we don't know or haven't heard much of yet.
Saul Alvarez
I asked this question a little earlier about what does boxing do when Floyd retires. Everyone said it would be fine, and no doubt it will be fine- even with the UFC looming in the background. But, what DO we do when Floyd and Manny retire??
What in the world do we do??
Boxing has been booming and things have been happening as a result of those two starts, the money they generate for their respective promotional companies, and the hype they create and attention it puts on the sport- better if you are on their undercard.
What in the world happens?? We don't know!!!
Yesterday it was Porter..
For his sake and sanity...Thurman needs to watch that build up and fight a few times.
Thurman is NOT the man. He doesn't have mass fan appeal. Danny Garcia COULD be the man, if he stays away from Floyd Mayweather and Manny until they either retire or Manny becomes a shell of himself physically.
Manny still looks better, more fluid and fight ready than Floyd does. By far.
With respect to Garcia- Floyd may just win out on him and embarrass him skill wise. But Manny will bruise him, batter him, beat him up and break his spirit at this stage.
Both Manny and Floyd win their fights- but Manny beats you up a bit more than Floyd does. Does more damage and hurts your core fight spirit more than Floyd does.
