You have to skip in a little to get to the fight in the title. Great fight.

They gave it there all in that fight!
Yes,
It was a terrific fight between two 'Hot Lightweights'.
Actually a fight that each Lightweight didn't really need. Both 'Rockin Robin' and
'Tony the Tiger' were in the Top 5, and both were in line for Championship bouts.
Weights
Wasn't this CBS-TV Bout at Light-Welterweight.
Or, what was billed as an 'over-the-weight' Lightweight bout.
The Skinny
It was billed as a Lightweight Bout by CBS.
But Tony Baltazar's handlers {Frank Baltazar Sr. and Jimmy Montoya} asked for a 2 lb. carry over, as Tony was
having some trouble getting down to 135 lbs.
Robin Blake's handlers {Dave Gorman and Joe Barrientes} agreed with the request, with the maximum weight
set at 137 lbs.
Tale of the Tape {CBS-TV}
* Tony Baltazar...... 137 lbs.
* Robin Blake ........ 136 1/4 lbs.
Robin was listed at 5' 11" and with a 69 1/2" Reach, and was ranked #3 WBA at Lightweight.
Tony was listed at 5' 8", and with a 67 1/2" reach, and was ranked #15 WBC at Lightweight.
Note; Tony Baltazar was actually {5' 5 1/2"}
CBS should show boxing again.
The Fight
Tony obviously had problems with Robin's height and movement, but appeared to be
closing in during Round 3 where he had his way.
Then, Tony suffered a cut near his right-eye in Round 3, and that bothered his vision
for the next few Rounds.
Robin was the better boxer from Rounds 4 thru 7 to build up a comfortable points lead.
But, Tony came on in Round 8 and scored with heavy-blows, even flooring Robin {though it was ruled a slip}.
