Canelo to go to HBO full time.
Sorta expected. Haymon is with Showtime and really only has Floyd. Hardly anyone else wants to follow Floyd, wholly and solely, to Showtime.
After the Floyd era, Showtime is gonna have problems. They had better build a second guy now if they wanna compete after the Floyd era.

I've read what you've wrote three times but still don't get it?
Canelo/Oscar going back to HBO is a kick in the bollocks to Haymon/Showtime. You're either with us (GB) or you're with them.

I corrected it. I meant to say that Haymon is primarily with Showtime now, and Oscar doesn't want anything to do with him or them.
Re: Canelo to go to HBO full time.
Any word if HBO plans on making the Canelo fights ppv or regular subscription.

Nah. But I guess one can get an indication that because he wants to take back the Mexican holiday optics and charm from Floyd Mayweather, then most likely he would want to have the PPV option.
I think he can compete with Floyd. Most certainly, particularly if Floyd doesn't have a solid Latino opponent to fight on those holiday days.
To me, TBTH, Chavez Jr. is the best draw for money on those days. Oscar should work towards securing JCC Jr.
Can you imagine a JCC Jr. vs. Canelo Alvarez on Cinco De-Mayo??? Floyd can't ever compete with that. I would tune in to that over Floyd.
Re: Canelo to go to HBO full time.
JCC Jr. vs. Canelo Alvarez on Cinco De-Mayo would really annoy little old Floyd.
I wish it happens. :)

With a card like Jhonny Gonzales vs. Abner Mares and G. Rigondeaux vs. Leo Santa Cruz on the undercards, Floyd will have to postpone his fight.
;D;D;D
Re: Canelo to go to HBO full time.
It's my opinion that Canelo is nothing special.
Re: Canelo to go to HBO full time.
Jr probably can't make 160 anymore, Canelo has still never fought there, doubt that comes off. Canelo-Cotto seems a lot more promising to me, that's a great fight. Does Cotto have any kind of deal with HBO?

I think this is gonna happen eventually at 168. Maybe not next year, but in the short to medium term future.

So true.
But he is a mexican with red hair which is rare and special.
Canelo really has two losses and golden boy will never put him against a mayweather/lara type fighter again.
Stick him in with clotty to look good and cotto in may then pac in november at a catchweight.
Canelo has two losses? He only has one loss, a total whitewash against Floyd. He beat Lara. In any event, no one can say it was a robbery.
What's wrong with fighting Cotto? It's a tremendous event and Cotto looked fantastic his last time out. The Pac fight won't happen because Pac won't go above 147 again.
I don't really understand the dislike for the Clottey fight. Clottey isn't a top ten guy by record at 154 but he's coming off a good win against Mundine and has good defense, not in the lateral movement sense, but in the African/European high guard model. It's another style for Canelo to learn to beat.
Also, Canelo is 23 or something ridiculous. I got on him about cherry-picking opponents in the past, but now he's fought Angulo, Lara, Trout and Mayweather. He's clearly willing to face tough challenges.

Haymon has more fighters than golden boy and top rank combined and he's signing more every week.

But many of his fighters have no star power.
