Not superstitious, but when I get in a frame of mind to do something, it has to be done and other things will fall to the wayside. For example, I will get a song idea and literally cannot do anything else until the process is complete. It can be frustrating as I know I have more practical things to be getting on with. Then on the flipside, if I am feeling down, I literally don't want to do anything. Both can be negative, but have nothing to do with superstition.
I also never answer my phone as I don't like the process and I am constantly changing email addresses. This is closer to superstition, but is really more about paranoia and a basic dislike of phones.

I read somewhere that many soldiers in Vietnam always stuck to their daily routines. Why? They feared something might happen to them when they strayed from their usual routines. I guess when we're insecure - or people who are insecure - (we) tend to maintian strict rountine in our daily lives. So being a bit superstitious is natural for us poor beings... but let's not forget, we aren't in Vietnam...;)...

Good points. I hadn't though about that. It's probably why I write down a list of things to do each day and plan out my meal timetable. Subconciously I am insecure and at war. That may be so.

I write notes all the time at work even in informal meeting, just obsessed by it and I have 15 years of notes that I have made.

Grow up ffs.
I don't think that is childish just an old saying that someone is reiterating or a simple superstition that makes someone feel a bit more lucky.

I take notes for a living.Did 23 pages this morning so I wouldn't be too worried by it. You can always turn it into a new job if you ever leave your present one. It astonishes me considering how poor my grammar is, and what a loose idea i have of sentence structure that people can read them, but I got asked to do them again this year for a returning student I helped last year, so there must be something about them that helps.;D

That is a good job!
I got the addiction from my days at school where we took notes from lecturers and never stopped. The police have used them as evidence so they are good quality. :)

You mean like walking down the road trying to miss all the joins to save your mum and you end up with some walking disorder and a bad back in later life?
Tread on a crack, break your mothers back. remember that one?:)
Someone out there, at least one, must be walking around like a mixture of the Hunch back of Notre dame and John Wayne.
Re: Are you superstitious that it effects your life negatively?
I've wondered in the past if superstition and OCD are distant ugly cousins. I had a short time in early teens where everything had to be done 7 times. Mostly everything. For the fear that if not "something bad would happen". It was rather debilitating and consumed massive amounts of time and function.
