Best way to alter the body to get the angle on the overhand rigfht hook?
Think Earnie Shavers Larry Holmes. That overhand. Or weather spoon vs tall stiff man.
Is it best to bend to the side with just your waist, or is it better to bend the leg? Its awkward to get the body mechanics right when you have to reach high up to a much taller opponent. Its not simple like punches from a vertical upright body position.
Just wanna make sure im doing this perfectly.

It's mostly the hip, some knee.

can you explain step by step how you throw this punch specifically where you have to lean far and hit a really tall guy?

Im finding there is a tendency ofr the rear leg to lift off the floor and an in proper rotation of the shoulders.
How do you do this right?
Do you bend at the leg?
Do you bend at the midsection?
Do you bend at the hips?
Do you bend to the side or do you bend forward or a bit of both?

Just start with the weight on the right foot, drive into the ground with your right foot, engaging the glutes and turning the body. As you do it bend at the left hip and a little at the knee, your left shoulder comes down as your head comes over that hip and the punch arcs over the top in a natural path. Throwing it's easy, range is the tricky part.
Perfect thanks ever so much jms!!! Ive got it down now! :)
