Muhammad Ali ~ How Did He Do In The 15th Round Of His Bouts ?
Cassius Clay
15 Round Performances
-----------------------------------
vs. George Chuvalo
Not very good. It was a boring 'jab, hold and grab' fest. Muhammad did
not exhibit great skills in that 15th Round.
Grade ... C-

Cassius Clay vs. George Chuvalo
March 29, 1966 ~
Maple Leaf Garden ~ Toronto, Canada
Cassius was making the 3rd Defense of his Title. Cassius {Age; 24 years, 2 months}
was supposed to be at his physical peak in strength.
Though he clearly was way ahead after 13-Rounds, Cassius was under instructions
from Angelo Dundee to end matters in the 14th Round.
Cassius rained blows from every angle on George, and nailed him with several jarring
right-hands that had George's eye's rolling in their sockets.
So much so, that George looked out-on-his-feet at the Bell ending Round 14.
Before Round 15, Angelo Dundee was screaming >
"End it Cassius. He's out on his feet. Be a man for God' sake. Act like a Champion."
Round 15 >
But Cassius came out and flicked left jabs, and moved. It was a 'stab-and-jab' festival
by Cassius.
It was George who was the 'man', by chasing Cassius from side-to-side in the Ring
and by whipping punches. Though George couldn't catch Cassius, it was he who was
throwing leather throughout the Round.
Side Note >
George Chuvalo only had '17-Days' to prepare for this bout.
Grade for Cassius .......... C-

*you're
And in not all, but several aspects yes, it does...
That's not even the point though, anybody who has actually experienced boxing wouldn't talk about a boxer with such obsession and lack of respect.

Don't feed the trolls
Re: Muhammad Ali ~ How Did He Do In The 15th Round Of His Bouts ?
I think Bill is trying to elucidate certain usually un-examined facets of Ali's career' such as how much dog he may or may not have had in him. If Dundee was indeed screaming "Be a man!" it does look a bit odd. But in Ali's favor, he DID fight a good 15th round against Shavers. May have pulled it out in that round, ALTHOUGH I FELT EARNIE WON THAT FIGHT FAIR AND SQUARE.

The 2nd-Time that Cassius Clay visited 'Round 15'.
February 6, 1967 ~ Houston Astrodome
Cassius {Age; 25 years, 0 Months} was at is absolute physical peak,
and strength at 212 lbs.
Ernie Terrell, a string-bean at 6' 6" and 212 lbs., had no punch and was
more 'awkward' then strong.
You would think that Cassius would have wanted to 'Knockout' a fighter who >
* Also had a claim to the Heavyweight Championship {WBA version}
* Beat up Cassius in a 1962 sparring session
* Called him by his 'so-called slave name' Cassius Clay
* Regarded as the #1 Heavyweight by Ring Magazine
* Called Cassius 'bad names' and a labeled him a 'coward'
Yes, Cassius put on a remarkable show, but he gouged Ernie's left-eye with
his laces, and pulled Ernie's head into the Rope Strands and forced his
face into the top rope.
Early in the bout, Cassius also caught Ernie in headlock, and jammed his thumb
into Ernie's left-eye, causing Ernie to have double-vision for the rest of the bout.
Still, Cassius couldn't stagger Ernie, let alone drop him.
With a weakened and eye-damaged 'gangling' fighter in front of him, Cassius
won Round 15, but it was 'nothing special'.
Grade for Cassius ....... C+
This bout 'certified' Cassius Clay as a dirty fighter, unsportsmanlike, and cruel.

I would just upgrade that to a B-
Re: Muhammad Ali ~ How Did He Do In The 15th Round Of His Bouts ?
For me Muhammad Ali was ,is & always will be THE GREATEST!!! You say he pushed Joe Louis & was rude to him. But did you hear what Joe called Ali for refusing induction into the army?? A traitor & a coward.. Sure Ali could have done like Joe did & been inducted & served as an ambassador for propaganda Doing exhibitions & such. If that's what they did with him but his religious beliefs would not let him do it. He could have done what countless others did to avoid the draft & fled the country. But he stayed and faced the music like a man. A certain Wiliiam Jefferson Clinton was one of those he fled to England.
His punishment. He was made President of the United States
Re: Muhammad Ali ~ How Did He Do In The 15th Round Of His Bouts ?
December 2, 1970
Madison Square Garden
Muhammad Ali vs. Oscar Bonavena
'Round 15'
It was an excellent performance by Cassius Clay.
But to be be fair, Oscar was behind on Points. And instead of boxing, he
put it 'all-on-the-line'' and tried to score a Knockout.
By doing that, he left himself 'wide-open' and was an easy target for Cassius
who was 5" Taller and had a 6" Reach advantage.
It was easy pickings for Cassius, as he waited for Oscar to open up. Oscar,
who was slow-and-plodding, foolishly lead with his chin first in Round 15.
Grade for Cassius ........ 'A'

No I don't agree with the OP but it's a public forum were ppl voice there opinion and I don't agree with your post. I have two friends who are now pro boxers and they actually don't know that much about boxing or even watch fights on tv and then I've got another few mates who have never boxed or been in a boxing gym and are right into the sport and you can have a good conversation with them.
