Algieri can win if he can get his jab snapping
If Chris is fast enough to pop that jab real hard, maybe get Pac's head to start snapping back, hard enough that Pac has to re-set his feet, and if Algieri is fast enough to get the hell out of there, move to the side, if he can keep that up, keep the jab snapping Pac's head back, keeping Pac on the back foot, he can win a decision.
Chrisg Algieri has abotu a 20% chance of winning a split decision.

I think pacman is going to make the fight look easy. Who actually had Algieri beating the Russian ? I thought it was a very poor decision.

I honestly had it a draw.

Algieri is a much taller man and does have decent boxing skills. I agree that if he is effective with the jab, it may be a tougher night for Manny that people expect. Erik Morales used his jab to control Manny and keep him at a distance in their first fight. It's one of the reasons I don't think Manny would ever beat Floyd, the jab would just be too accurate and brutal on Manny. I wouldn't bet against Manny in this one, as I think he should win and be too fast. That being said, Manny has had a long career and guys with his style can get old overnight, especially against a guy they are taking lightly. This has some danger for Manny...

Yep a draw or a point either way ;) but I also think Pac punishes Algieri to a wide decision or late stoppage
Re: Algieri can win if he can get his jab snapping
Its easy for people underestimate Aligieri in this fight. He does have movement and is more of a boxer and slicker than other taller guys like magarito. Although he doesn't have much on his punches.
I see freddy having pac play the ranges though. Pac definitely closes the distances faster than provo, so he'll bridge the gap and alieri will cover up and going into a shell, try to slip out the side and make room for those long arms so he can stick with a jab straight or hook as hes circling. If pacs on the outside and Algieri looking to work the jab, Pac will be looking counter by going under punches and blitzing him.
If pac stays close, it takes all the power off of most of Algieris punches, and allows pac to stay busy and use his fast hands to rip into Algieri. This forces Algieri to either stay in his shell or open up and trade with no leverage. Pacs just gotta be careful of standing right in front of Algieri because the one weapon Algieri will have left and can throw from the shell in that range is the uppercut. Has more leverage on it from a tall guy on a shorter opponent.
Either way an upper is a good punch Algieri can add to his arsenal if hes thinking about keeping pac honest. Just my opinion.
Re: Algieri can win if he can get his jab snapping
The whole fight is illogical and should not happen. If Manny loses he should retire with Arum and never come back into boxing ever for the shame.

Re: Algieri can win if he can get his jab snapping
Manny has been calling out Floyd as of late. I don't like to see that happen. It makes me think he may be looking past Algeri. I agree he can give Manny some problems. It brings to mind Apollo Creed not taking Rocky seriously. We all know what happened there.
Re: Algieri can win if he can get his jab snapping
I can't fault a kid for maximizing his role and spotlight and Algieri has definitely done that. Its just half the time he comes off like a guy to enthusiastic about taking my order at starbucks. This fight makes no sense to me and its win nothing-lose everything for Manny. For all of the "boxing" Chris does he also does a great amount of posturing and posing in the ring. Its hard to describe..not in some arsehole cocky way but more like a guy who spends too much time shadow boxing in his hallway mirror and being overly impressed with it.
No doubt he'll hang tough though, even though I had Provo winning you have to respect coming back from being brutally mashed in the 1st and fighting through those torn up eyes. The one risk I see for Manny is his mentality..his fire, again...and not being willing to put hard hurt on a guy like Chris. This isn't an arch rival like Marquez or a revenge somewhat shate talker like Bradley. Its a media friendly, crisp and clean looking choir boy. Manny has to hurt him, not settle and relax. I think he'll carve Chris up badly none the less.
Re: Algieri can win if he can get his jab snapping
I think Manny finally manages to win inside the distance. I don't think he'll knock him out but I do think he'll stop him.
Manny and Arum always start alking about Mayweather the week before one of their PPVs then you never hear him mentioned until the week before his next PPV. One of the Top Rank 140 pounders, can't remember who, says that if he wins his next fight (round about now, maybe on this bill, can't rmember) he's been told he's going to get Manny next.
