Boxers who Earned a Shaver
Are there any boxers who earned a shaver, or even a shaving kit, as part of winning the title? Or is it just the actual belt only? Are there any trophies or anything in addition to the belts? In American football there is the "ring" if you win the Super Bowl, sorta like winning a boxing title.

If I did not know you were mildly deranged, I would say you were very funny LOL
Re: Boxers who Earned a Shaver

Re: Boxers who Earned a Shaver
I heard Ali once Earned a Gillette Mach 3 Shaver for losing to Norton in SD, CA.
Re: Boxers who Earned a Shaver
Wasn't there a shaven headed boxer called Sarnie Ehavers?
Re: Boxers who Earned a Shaver
I've heard of that guy Al, hardest puncher EVER but he somehow didn't ever win a world title, what poor luck he must have had

Yeah I gotta give Brockton that one Adam,
Shavers beat guys who were champs, just like other boxers have like Tua, so he is not alone in being unlucky.
Sometimes it's just a case of being right place, right time.
Besides, some people consider Axel Schultz the rightful lineal champ when he (really) defeated Geroge Foreman and not Shannon Briggs who (really) lost to Foreman.
Similary you could consider Shavers a champ of sorts anyway based on facial scoring.

Shavers BEAT Muhammad Ali for the championship, and everyone knows it.
Shavers completely annihilated an ex-Champion and ATG Ken Nortonwho went 45 rounds with Muhammad Ali and that same guy BEAT Muhammad Ali twice out of 3.
Shavers utterly destroyed Jimmy Young TWICE who BEAT Muhammad Ali AND George Foreman hands down.
Shavers whacked out Jimmy Ellis so badly that Joe Frazier REFUSED TO GET IN THE RING WITH EARNIE SHAVERS, IN JOE FRAZIER'S OWN WORDS.
Shavers NEARLY had Champion Larry Holmes and also Ron Lyle IN A COFFIN, but they slipped away.
Earnie destroyed Joe Bugner, who is ranked #24 ALL TIME GREAT HEAVY.
"TIGER" Williams and Howard Smith proved Earnie's greatness for the record books.
EARNIE RUINED UP AND COMING SUPERSTARS "IRISH" PAT DUNCAN, YOUNG AGABAB, AND VINCENT RONDON, HENRY CLARK AND TERRY MIMS.
FACT.
Re: Boxers who Earned a Shaver
You would think by some measures that there wasnt hundreds and hundreds of heavyweight mid class fighters to get through over the years thousands of them actually.
The elite that are actually in with a hope for one reason or another above a punchers chance, in any era is the top how many? 8 or 10 that are above average?
I dont get how some fans only have eyes for the top and say the rest are bums I think they undermine the sport and what it takes to get anywhere near the top.

agreed. There are no bums. every man who gloves up and gets into the ring, bites down on that mouthpiece, is a real man in my opinion, he is ready to rumble, he knows he's going to get hit and some people have gotten killed, he has a family to feed, Earnie Shavers and Larry Holmes were sons of share-cropper farmers from down south, 10, 12, 14 brothers and sisters, they had to bail hay and chop wood, I respect those guys more than the guys who just go to the Chic Gym for Yuppies and sip on their Starbucks and give interviews to Elie Sethback or Max Kellerman.
Re: Boxers who Earned a Shaver
No I think they only win the belt..oh I see what you have done..... very clever.... circumvented the @Fenster ban.
