Scott could have gotten up... but he chose not to.
I thought so as well at the time, but it is possible Scott just has the punch resistance of your average person. He is slow to react when hurt or doesn't have the drive to fight through it. Look at him make it to his feet right at the count after taking an average right hand from a non puncher in Chisora, not much different really. This was a pretty looping hook but it did catch him right around the ear/temple, and this was against a modern HW remember Max!:D It looks fishy because he seems to make eye contact with Wilder as soon as he touches down, but he might have been seeing 5 different guys in reality, only he knows for sure I guess.
Mickey Rourke made more contact with the hobo then Wilder did with Scott
Well considering I DID tip Stiverne to win, I would say I told you so LOL
And if Wilder managed to bomb Stiverne out, then Wilder is the real deal and I will rate him accordingly.
I don't think you catch my drift, I am not saying Wilder is a pathetic joke historically, on the contrary not many from the past could withstand him any better than the bums and divers he's fought, but that doesn't mean I can't criticise him on his career with a relevant current vantage point.
What do you expect from a guy ranked 26th ( in an official title eliminator :cwm13: ) and just ko'd by Chisora :-X
Honestly this looks no different than a handful of Wilders early 'stuff'. They don't want any dings or scratches on this car until its actually allowed to leave the showroom floor and drive in the real world ;D
Criticize Wilder all you want, I've been doing that very thing for a while, but I'm still hoping Wilder will be that standout guy--the one that will pull this HW era out of the doldrums. There has to be one out there.
Fight nite will clear things up, one way or the other.
Just remember, I said I hope he's the the guy, even if he wins it's only a step in the right direction.
I don't think Scott took a dive.
I would not hedge anything on Wilder to be a standout guy.
Some facts are, he has bad chin and bad stamina and little fundamental skills to back up his obvious knockout qualities and range advantage.
What is needed is a strong HW with great balance and a great pedigree. That's the stuff stand out champs are made of.
Alexander Povetkin and Kubrat Pulev are the 2 front runners that meet this criteria atm for a post Wladimir era along with Davey Haye if he ever gets his ass into gea and Bermane Stiverne..
These 4 guys are at this stage the best non-Klitschko heavies. The Wilders, Joshua's and Fury's may or may not prove to be the real deal at this time.
BTW: Deontay is a GAY sounding first name for a male. Deontay... smh....
Yes it is!
Not a strong name like... Max :D ;D
hooooooooooly shit!!!! That ws the biggest fucking dive of all time
that right hand did not even make contact with scott at all, not even a graze.
The more I see it the less I believe it.
I wasn't sure when it happened but on second look, it does look like he falls way to easy and looks fine while he is laying there.
