Wilder - Stiverne media scores, punchstats etc
Very rarely do the media and the judges etc score ALL for the right guy. No CJ Ross last night for the Wilder - Stiverne fight. 42 Media scores with article on the fight
I had it 116-112 Wilder, My full card is on the article.
How did you all score it and was there ANYBODY that scored for Stiverne or had it a draw??

I don't think it's very wise for anyone that scored it for Stiverne to reveal they did.
Re: Wilder - Stiverne media scores, punchstats etc
to be honest i find it very hard to see how you could score it 116-112
there is no chance wilder lost more than 3 rounds, 3 rounds is being very very kind to stiverne
listening to the commentry on boxnation they gave one round to stiverne, round 4 or 5 or something and it was his best round by far, did miles better than any other of the rounds but no chance he won it, first round he won was 6 i think (something like that) maybe 7, then he won 1 other
Re: Wilder - Stiverne media scores, punchstats etc
The 4th could have went either way but i chose the pressure in the first 2 mins as why i scored for stiverne as for the first time in the fight he actually began to land punches.
ave score of 117-111 tells the story

exactly why the commentators scored it to stiverne
he had improved massively from 1,2 and 3 but it was no way his round

Re: Wilder - Stiverne media scores, punchstats etc
I think I managed to give Stiverne 2 rounds. Wilder was excellent, but I wonder to what extent Stiverne being so poor made him look that way. No head movement, no output and plodding forward onto punches all night made me think I was watching Chisora in his last fight. How can you not move your head against someone who can keep you at range on reach alone, don't you need to get inside the jab and do some work? I just didn't see a strategy at all. On the other hand, Wilder came in with a plan, some speed, and some smarts and on the whole stuck to it very well. Wilder answered a lot of questions in going 12, hurting a decent opponent, and not getting flustered when hit. It was a very mature performance from someone who has never been past 4.
A Fury fight next would be good and I can see Fury losing that as he is a fatty who only picks on smaller men and though not heavy, Wilder is tall, fast and has the power to cause problems. Fury won't be allowed to lean all night as Wilder has shown he has good movement for a big guy. He's not even that big really for his height and being a HW. 219 pounds is light and I have no idea if he could take a shot from someone like Wlad. Fury though for sure and that is a reasonable next step. Then maybe another skill builder against a top fighter, then perhaps catch Wlad as Wlad is at the tail end of his career.
I'm pleased for Wilder. He has the right attitude and a performance like that makes me like him.
