First and Foremost, I really don't want to sound like a Froch hater, although admittedly he isn't my cup of tea. It could be as simple as it says, he's got an injury.
Or , it could be that the Chavez fight can't happen because of his legal disputes with Bob Arum, so to hedge his bets and keep his title , he's suddenly got an injury. This buys him time to get that Vegas boxed ticked , with Chavez or Somebody else.
James Degale must be fucking furious , but I suppose that's boxing.
It won't happen , but in an ideal World, Degale would fight whoever for the Title and whoever wins would have to make their first defence against Froch for a Closer split of the Purse. Froch could quite rightly point out that other Champions like Andre Ward for example have been out of the ring for far longer and he would have a point. Interested to hear other people's thoughts.

Well I guess that's the Chavez/Vegas lark over with then.
Yep, I've said it before - he drops the IBF belt, DeGale wins it, they fight for it on Eddie's massive summer outdoor PPV.

Won't the IBF let him keep it because of injury? Degale might have to fight for an interim version, like Afolabi is because Hernandez is injured too.

This all sounds a bit too convenient for Froch here ;)
Can't he keep his IBF belt now that he is "injured" which buys himself (Eddie Hearn) more time to negotiate with Arum/Chavez Jnr and the fight he want's in Vegas ....?

Froch seems more grounded than Hop.
If froch thinks retirement imo he will.
He's been a hero to his fans since day one.
Hop started out fighting in 1/2 empty arenas hoping to hear chants of his name.
That drives him to keep on.

Froch is at a point in his carer, were his body is braking down injurers are becoming a problem,
he has achieved his goal of being a World Champion, the very top in boxing.
If he retires which he will do, sooner or later maybe it's time to pack in now, and just live his
life outside the ring.

The Chavez - Fonfara fight won't happen the same reason as the Froch - Chavez fight. Bob Arum will stop it happening. Like I said before, if he can stop a Floyd v Pac match , he can certainly fuck Chavez around if he feels like it.
btw, Obviously Chavez will be training hard for this if he has to shred down to LHW!!! :rolleyes: he probably won't make the SMW limit for Froch after that anyway! fuckin useless.
