Why is Kell Brooks IBF opponent currently "un named"
Brook defends his title on March 28th in Sheffield but his opponent won't be named until this Thursday 22nd Jan at the press conference, i just checked the IBF Welter weight rankings and no one is ranked Number 1 in the division, just Brook as Champion then you have Dan Ion at number 2.
Why is there no immediate mandatory challenger in place already?

I think Brook was waiting on Khan... but Khan was waiting on Mayweather... and Mayweather was mulling whether it will be Pac/Khan or Mundine (hehehehe)... so, Mayweather's pussy ass dithering is at the root of all of this.
Brook should just let it slide. Khan can't be out of his sights for too long. Fight Gavin, Bizier, Ion or some other easy bout. It may be a blessing in disguise for Brook.

First these clowns have to start calling Ionuț Dan Ion by his boxing name for the last freakin 10 years which is JOJO DAN and he's earned his way back .
Brook is allowed an optional here and I'm not sure of the IBF rules but on paper I think he has to be top 15 or top 25.

Are those rankings up to date? I've heard Eddie mention Jo Jo Dan as the mandatory a few times recently. Think their plan was always to get rid of it before a massive fight with Khan/Bradley/Marquez etc

No promoter has yet come up with the required fee to buy the current IBF mandatory slot.

Eddie was talking about taking this route even before Brook had his leg chopped off. If you're gonna have a pony "gimme" fight, I suppose the mandatory challenger is as legit an excuse as it gets.
