The 10 Commandments of Boxing.
What are 10 things a boxer should do to have a successful career, assuming he has athletic ability, OK power, decent chin, and determination?
1. Get some amateur experience, more is better.
Be serious or have fun, I don't give a hoot one way or another.😑
Re: The 10 Commandments of Boxing.
2. Don't take unnecessary punishment when you can avoid getting hit/boxing is hit and don't get hit
Re: The 10 Commandments of Boxing.
2.Boxing is a jealous God, thou shalt have no other Gods before me
Get serious, get devoted. 75% never cut it and time spent out of the gym or the ring is time wasted. (unless you are sleeping). You have a short career and a similarly dedicated opponent, particularly once you start to step up in level, so if you want to make something of yourself act and work like a pro NOW
Re: The 10 Commandments of Boxing.
Besides all the cliche stuff about training hard and eating your vitamins, guys should make sure to get themselves a great lawyer and a legit sports agent, and avoid signing away their careers to these god awful contracts promoters like Bob Arum have been tying guys up with.

Looks like BP covered them all- maybe I'd put Promoter first- since thats' the main thing stopping fights.
