That is very cute. I taught really young Kindergarten kids several years ago at a number of schools and in some ways it was some of the most enjoyable teaching I have done. We would do open lessons twice a year with acting and singing and all the parents along watching. The open lessons were actually very stressful for me, but thankfully it always went okay with a few faux pas for unplanned comedy laugh value. However, no Ramones or guitar which seemed to work really well there for that simplicity and raw energy. Kids love songs and participating and you see the enthusiasm they have and it is very rewarding. They can also be very naughty too, but that's just kids, I guess.
My 4th grade teacher used to play guitar and sing to us. We'd go to lunch, spend 45 minutes beating the daylights out of one another, then we'd come back to a dark classroom. She'd tell us to put our heads on our desks and she'd sing bridge Over troubled water or something similar. She was a hippy chick and a bit of an idealist.
School was sometimes the best time of my life and sometimes the worst.
We had a bloke teacher did exactly the same,we'd get out of work by asking him if had learnt any more songs .Quote:

We would have tubs of wood percussion blocks, the cheap tiny dual bongo, clackers, maracas and random bells on a stick to shake the fuck around :p Then somehow I was signed up to play the trumpet in 5th grade and well that didn't go for long. Convinced myself I could beatbox in the 7th grade lunch court on a regular basis.... :bag:
between classes on the staircase I used to play smoke on the water by deep purple all the way back in 1975 when the song was still pretty new kids would give me 5 cents every time I play smoke on the water I only knew how to play the chorus I could not play the verses very well and the bar chords were pretty tough since I was only 10 years old at that time
