So it's just the "Free to Air" rights that are stalling Floyd v Pac...?

According to sources involved in the talks, Showtime has pushed for a similar scenario they agreed to in their landmark 2002 deal to do a joint pay-per-view for the Lennox Lewis-Mike Tyson heavyweight title fight when Lewis was signed to HBO and Tyson was with Showtime. For that deal, they agreed that the network whose fighter won the fight would get the replay rights and pay the other network $3 million. HBO, however, according to sources, is pushing for simultaneous network replays of Mayweather-Pacquiao.

They're not going to blow a $400 million promotion for a few million and issues over a replay.

The fight could still not happen and it would be down to either Arum or Floyd/Haymon. But whoever is ultimately responsible for blowing it we'll never know.

The thing is Manny is almost at the end of his career and this is the right time for Arum to make the fight so I really don't think it'll be Arum who fucks it up. More likely Floyd/Haymon won't want to make the fight for whatever reasons.

What a poor reason if this was it for not having the fight.

Neither side is Stupid. When I first heard the 60/40 was agreed to, I was surprised that Mayweather didn't hold out for more but thinking about how much more he'd be earnig beyond his previous fights and the droping PPV revenues. It is clear and fair why there hasn't been more made of the split percentages. Both sides know this will probably be the only opportunity to make over 100 million on both sides and setup a rematch which if ends in complete controversy just adds more fuel for a raging forest fire. I would not be surprised to see Mayweather's photo with Vence McMahon or Donald Trump.

I'm not much on conspericy theroies but the way things have been playing out lately, start to smell more and more like we are all being played.

Stung by recent media reports that it is holding up a deal, HBO, which has not even publicly acknowledged the negotiations in the first place, issued a surprising statement on Monday in which it essentially said that nobody should blame it if the deal doesn't get done.
"We are not an impediment to this fight. We stand ready to go. The principals need to agree to terms and come to a deal," HBO Sports said in the statement.

Sounds like the networks are done and it's just a matter of the Two making it offical.
