Manny ALREADY in L.A. to train for Floyd
It's a good sign the Manny is already in L.A. To train for May 2nd. Manny is usually surrounded by controversy and uncertainty this early in training camp, so I feel like this points to Manny being very focused and "up" for the Floyd fight. I feel like Manny's only hope for this fight is to come in and fight the fight of his life, and have Floyd have an "off" night.
That being said, one factor that doesn't sit well with me is that by coming to train early and skip the chaos, Manny has changed a constant from his normal routine. Say what u want about Floyd but the man knows what he needs to do to win and he sticks to it with BHop like discipline. I never like it when a competitor starts changing constants for big fights as it leads to over training, inferior training, lack of confidence...etc.
In your opinion, do you think Manny starting camp in L.A. this early is a good, or bad thing?
Re: Manny ALREADY in L.A. to train for Floyd
If he had a chance of winning, I'd say it was a good thing. But since he's fighting Money May, it's just wasted time away from his family he'll never get back.
Re: Manny ALREADY in L.A. to train for Floyd
I started thinking this fight might be like the 3rd installement of Duran vs Sugar Ray, probably with Mayweather winning on points
Re: Manny ALREADY in L.A. to train for Floyd
Im sure Manny usually has an 8 week camp anyway - isnt it about 8 -9 weeks until the fight? if so then it's perfectly normal
Re: Manny ALREADY in L.A. to train for Floyd
I agree with you Mikeeod. Its nice to be eager and up for a fight, but with so much of fighting being a mental game. Changing routines and other things that keep a fighter confident and comfortable lead to other changes and substitutes and stuff like overtraining.
I remember hating that about matthysse doing that for the garcia fight. Dragging out life the promotional tour instead of resting like hes used to. Training here the entire time instead of at home in Argentina around his family. You stick to the poisons you know. Altering things at the last second throws a fighter off much of the time.

This is a good sign and I hope he beats the money man.
Re: Manny ALREADY in L.A. to train for Floyd
He started light training about a week ago in the Philippines before the arriving in the US.
Amazes me some people don't give him a chance against a clearly ageing and slowing down Mayweather.
I really think Manny can take him and is 100% gonna make Floyd have to fight at a crazy pace from the opening bell.
I don't see this being a snoozefest either - total opposite for me.
Boxing is long overdue two mega stars producing a legendary classic battle and i think we are gonna get it

This is a good read - 13 reasons Floyd will lose to Manny, i agree with a good few of the points listed but what gives Manny a great chance for me is that Floyd has struggled with Southpaws before and none were Manny Pacquiao.
Forget the age thing as Pacquiao is still for me in superb condition and Floyd ain't exactly gonna set a blistering pace because he simply hasn't got the engine to do that anymore which is why he's hand picked mainly slow come forward sluggers in his last 3-4 fights ;)
13 reasons Floyd Mayweather Jr. will lose to Manny Pacquiao
Re: Manny ALREADY in L.A. to train for Floyd
Stop trying to convince yourself. Manny will get beat. Floyd adjusts even against southpaws and has extra gears that he moves through when requires. The money man is a machine.

God I hope your right, the main thing I want is a beautiful exciting fight. I put aside my Floyd bias when he's in the ring so I can enjoy his performance. I'm a pactard so of course I want Manny to win but if it's a great fight I shall be pleased regardless. The venomous discussions that pop up from the fans reminds me of Boston Red Sox v New York Yankees fans in a drunken brawl. That's probably not an analogy my English brethren relate to but you get the idea.
