How GW Bush destroyed US economy

1. deregulation of Wall Street allowed financial institutions to make wild trades and pursue risky investments and transactions. Collateralized debt obligations, black pools, currency default swaps, george bush eliminated laws which allowed hedge funds and banks to run wild and unchecked. This lead to monster trillion dollar white collar crime from goldman sachs and including citigroup, j_p morgan, bank of america wells fargo et cetera. this also helped built the housing bubble with disastrous consequences.

2. 57% of bush's tax cuts benefited the wealthiest 3% of American taxpayers and cost 3 trillion dollars over the following 9 years after being enacted. even now bush's tax cuts for the wealthy are still the main driving factor of the US national debt

3. bush ran up a huge tab on two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan costing trillions of dollars.Bill Clinton had created a surplus but George Bush completely tore through every penny of that surplus.

4. while Bush was happy to bail out banks and his financial cronies he did very little to help homeowners who were destroyed in the melt down. To this day one out of three home owners is still underwater ..

Actually, I just looked out the window and America is here and doing fine, carry on.

From personal experience i think the states doing quite good at the moment, just look at the dollar its insanely high.

Amazing how the nation is doing fine when previous president's agenda is scrutinized. Then as soon as we name the current prez; America is unrecognizable. America is doing fine and fucked up; at the same time, go figure.

Only in America can 12 billion get sent to a country- it vanishes & we labeled those who questioned where it went as: Bush-bashers.

The economy was so destroyed by this dude, not one. Not one candidate in 2008, 2012 stated how they could solve it. Even more ridiculous is when Bush went against conservative so-called values that claim home ownership is based on making the down payment. Makes since to me: cant afford a down payment, then how can you afford a home mortgage?

Well in 2004 what did the Senate & Congress approve of? The American Dream Zero Down payment act by Congressmen Tiberi. Stating the greatest barrier to owning a home is what? the down payment. We bailed out airlines industry, the financial sector, started 2 wars with enemies that have no fucking allegiance to a nation, we funded medicare part D that is totally not paid for. we had more companies fall in 10 years than in 100. And of course R Allen Stanford claimed he made 8 billion, when he didn't. And then Bernie Madoff..never in World history has a man claimed 65 billion and didn't make 650 dollars and fifty cents. Add all this shit up & how can we make it up? No man can fix an economy that has those issues. NO man. Jesus where are you because we are all fucked up down here on earth.

They are all on one club, and we aint on it! All bought and paid for by the corporations and special interest lobbies. Bush was a monstrous criminal, as is Obama. Pot and Kettle.

I got a question completely out of this topic but i give it a try, how hard would it be to get a visa to the states, i mean a proper visa. not as a tourist, permanent resident?

The US economy is in terrible shape. The number of people out of work is at monumental levels, those in work are increasingly in PT McD style jobs, the national debt is ballooning, and this is all at historically low interest rates. If they couldn't get their shit together at zero interest rates, then they are never going to rise.

We are good. We are the greatest country in the world. Thank God we created the Beatles and the stones. If it weren't for the blues, Elvis, buddy holly etc. They never would have been. You think our economy sucks, check out the shot most of the world live in, every country, one way or another has benefited from the US. This is my new tact for dealing with anti American threads. I know you are all just hatin and jealous, can't say I blame you.

hey believe me I wish I could just go right back to New Jersey or New York where I grew up and where I spent 40 plus years trying to make ends meet with the advanced degrees that I have from two different universities. I wish that I could go to New York and send out my resume which is quite stellar to be honest and immediately within three or four or five weeks to get two or three good interviews at Fortune 100 corporations in global marketing or international finance and trade which is what I studied when I earned my masters degree. I wish I could get a job at the same level as my education and that means a starting salary of approximately 60 thousand US dollars per year. However those jobs are simply not there. They have vanished. And rightly as Miles has said the only jobs out there are McDonalds, clerks, cleaning jobs, sales jobs, cashiers, and other menial service sector jobs such as working behind the counter at a wireless telephone store and trying to sell 500 minute plans to the walk in customers, answering phone calls from angry customers about there late shipments of 2/thirds steel head screws for industrial containers or something of this sort. I am definitely not jealous of anything like that!. Also chemical engineers computer programmers and any computer science always seem to be doing very well. But besides those three careers everything else is just glorified secretarial and clerical jobs where you are sitting in a little cubicle with your own computer and telephone taking calls from angry customers about their shipments of textiles or caviar or luggage or industrial barrels for $12 an hour. I am definitely not jealous of anything like that. Since the 1990s America has become a nation of clerks.
