Looks like Razor Ruddock really IS gonna fight again.

Apparently Razor had announced comebacks before... but this time it seems to be for real. He's actually signed to fight on March 28th, at the ripe old age of 51. Not only that... it's been almost 14 years since his last professional fight. C'mon man... seriously?
I was a Ruddock fan back in the day. But someone should be looking out for this guy's health and well-being. In his interview for the article he attributes at least part of his fighting shape and readiness to a "strict vegan diet". Plenty of weed in that diet, I presume. He also cites Diana Nyad, who swum from Cuba to Florida at age 64, as an inspiration. Donovan.... while the achievement is major and worthy of admiration, the fact is the Atlantic wasn't feeding her a straight diet of hooks, uppercuts, and straight right hands.
Nothing worse than a dull razor.

Add Acelino Freitas. Nothing worse than a crying fighter being carried on the shoulders of his team, after a loss.

George Foreman's comeback was the worst thing to ever happen to HW boxing, because it made every old, fat, washed up former champ think they had a chance to reclaim their former glory well into their 40s and 50s, and all they do is end up embarrassing themselves and losing more brain cells because Foreman was the one in a million exception to the rule.

No. Just no. Unlike any other profession, boxing is not "Sharknado" where even the washed up has been actors can spark new life and make decent money. Its a punch you in the head and feel it in the morning profession. At 50+ he like anyone should be proud on an already carved niche in heavyweight history and committing to a healthy lifestyle resulting in massive weight loss that enables him to now tie his shoes and live longer.

In retrospect, there's no arguing with that line of thinking. At the time, we all marveled at Big George, and what he was able to accomplish at that age and after such a long layoff. But you're right... it opened the barn doors for all the HW retirees and their unfortunate comebacks.
Re: Looks like Razor Ruddock really IS gonna fight again.
I bet if Wilder didn't just win a strap, razor would have eventually found his way on to Wilder's radar.
