He just knocked out Macklin and got himself into the #1 behind the Kazak and is a true middle and tricky southpaw. Not sure its worth the 16.6 million Cotto gets for the payday but that's here nor there I suppose.
Good for Cotto

Good for Cotto
Looks like it will a rematch of the gimpy version of Martinez, based on Heiland's style. I wont say its a horrible fight and we should force him to fight Golovkin just so Golovkin doesn't have to fight the Monroe jr.s of the world but... it just looks obvious now that Cotto wants to make money up till the last second before GGG is forced on him.
It wouldn't bother me as much if these A side/ B side whiners did so without twisting the rules and stifling the sport. If your as popular as you say, you don't need the belt. So lay the strap down and let the people who value it, fight for it and fulfill their destiny. Which is what the sport used to be about.
This is a challenging fight for Cotto, maybe he is trying to see how he will be against a fit and strong middleweight.
I just want to see Cotto fighting regularly.
If he's gonna duck GGG and maybe Canelo,it's as good a fight as any I suppose.
$16.6 million?
That's more than double he made against Floyd. Whoever reported that must have got a bit carried away with the figures, lol
His new promoter guaranteed him $16m per bout? What's his name - Sheikh Mohammed? I assume that includes stud duties?
Where's the link for this
i just saw that he was probably going to fight bundrage. which is true?
Ducking big money fights against Triple G and Alvarez to fight k-9. :vd:
