Will Floyd Mayweather Come Out Throwing Bombs to Shock Everyone?
Been thinking about this reverse-psychology thing with the fight lately, and after watching Floyd spar on that clip, I got the feeling he will come out throwing bombs, he hasnt had a knockout in so long and certain people are all thinking he will stink the place out with all his running and etc., that he may run even more now that he's in with a deadly puncher with great speed, but I think he may do the opposite here and shock everyone, he was throwing some really hard right hands in that clip, hard power shots, really sitting down a bit more than usual on his punches, I think he needs to get Manny's respect in the first 2 minutes of the 1st Round by landing a nice big right hand. Can you imagine Floyd knocking out Manny with power shots toe-to-toe? It would blow everyone's mind.

a bit like the Muhammad Ali strategy against George Foreman--- who expected Ali to throw wicked right hand leads from the opening bell, snapping Foreman's head back and putting in some early physical and psychological damage to the Big Punching Foreman? Winning the Psychological War?
Will Pac/Floyd be like Ali/Foreman?

Everyone thinks that Manny is some big KO artist and Floyd is the light puncher...but Manny hasn't had a KO since 2009 and Floyd's last KO was in 2011.
(...and I'm sure it's no coincidence that Manny seems to have lost all his KO power since drug testing has become de rigueur.)

As much as I hope you're right because it would make for a better fight to watch while it lasted, the biggest strength Floyd has is his discipline and Boxing Brain. He's definitely "if it ain't broke , don't fix it" in recent years. Floyd will bide his time and pick Manny off bit by bit and in the second half of the fight he will dominate. He won't need to take too many risks and would be more than happy with a long points win.
I have to say though that I do think Floyd's power is underrated (as is his chin) and he is capable of KO'ing Manny.

true. Ortiz KO was a crock of camel shit. floyd was so mad at the cut lip from the goat head butt then the kissing and tonguing gay bullshit that he just said FUCK IT and clocked his lil' ass, cold-cocked him. It was understandable after that headbutting bullshit.
woulda been funny to give Ortiz 5 minutes to recover and take a point from Floyd, and let the damn fight go on, it was getting good.

not sure.....maybe he wants us to think he will outbox easily and outspeed easily and out-dance easily......then suddenly come out with heavy guns both barrels blazing, heavy shots to shock the Filipino and the world,

which probably wont happen because (as other people have mentioned) manny doesnt seem to have that massive punch anymore

Floyd has never had the type of chin in my opini that could withstand more than one shot from a guy like Moseley or Pacquiao. Floyd will be more aggressive because he has no choice. He needs to get Pac's respect and make him realize that he can hurt him, which he will do. Floyd and Pac are both lightning fast, but the difference is Floyd is always technically sound and defensively aware. I don't think most people realize exactly how much of a skill advantage Floyd has over him. Pac has a TON of bad habits that he gets away with when he's fighting the typical slower, one dimensional fighters.
When Pac is going to throw his 1-2, he drops his left hand as he's jabbing (it got him KTFO vs JMM). Guess who LOVES to counter jabs with lightning fast straight rights? Pac will throw a combination and drop his hands and admire his work. No problem against guys like Rios and Margarito. Guess who has the best counter punching and timing in the business?
IMO it's going to be the straight right and a big focus on body punching by Floyd. PBF is going to counter the fuck out of him and bang him hard to the body, and IMO he's going to stop Pac. People keep focusing on the troubles that Pac presents to Floyd. He's a big challenge, but people are forgetting the troubles Floyd presents a guy like Pac. Manny is going to get hit from angles he's never been hit from, he's going to get countered doing shit that he has always been safe doing, and people are going to be surprised when Floyd get tagged hard and doesn't go anywhere, doesn't fold up like people think he will and instead fires back and gets the better of the exchanges.

Floyd might get desperate, but I doubt it will be early on. Once he sees how tricky and quick Manny is, he is going to be covering up and relying on power. In a funny way, I can see it being a bit like Pac/Bradley 2. Floyd cannot keep up with the work rate or the combinations and so he is going to have to lay something big down the middle. Floyd doesn't hit hard, so I don't think he can keep Manny off. There is every chance Manny will destroy Floyd and everyone will be in shock. Floyd was only squeaking by Cotto and DLH and Hatton years ago and Manny destroyed these guys. Floyd is in for a hard days night.
