road workin thing morning, ring in the evening, what about STRENGTH?
Hey everybody,
I have been looking at this site for a while now, but just decided to join. I am 21 years old, Male, about 5'10" 170lbs and am just getting into boxing. Took some martial-arts a few years ago, so i know about stance and punching, and have mostly just been focusing on mastering the JAB/CROSS.
I usually do my work-outs in the morning, but when i look at this site during the day at my job, i go home and want to work on my jab some more.
I was thinking about doing the road work in the morning and ring work after i get off work, which seems like it is the "correct" thing to do.
But my real question is, when should i be doing strength conditioning like push-up, sit-ups, dips and weights? Would they be more beneficial to do in the morining before or after my road work? or at night before or after my ring work?
Just thought i would get some in-put on the subject before i put it into effect.
Thanks!
EricB

Doesnt matter morning or evening , just do it an hour or so after you have eaten so your body has carbs stored in it and so you are not burning muscle away.
At my boxing gym we always do circuit work which is press ups etc before we spar.
It goes
Circuit - Push ups etc
Tecqnique - (sorry spelling :P)
Sparring
