Best boxing technician over the last 5 years
Hey all. I love knockout artists as much as the next boxing fan, for terms of excitement but who in your opinions have been the best boxers in terms of skill, in and out movement and the full array of punches in their arsenal? Boxing is an artform and boxing ability doesn't seem to be talked about as much anymore compared to power punchers. I've set up a wee poll of (in my opinion) the best boxers on the World scene in the last 5 years. I'd like to hear from as many people as possible with your opinions and arguments. Cheers.

Nice poll. Was pretty torn between Hopkins & Mayweather.
Voted for Mayweather...basically thought that both were pretty close...but Mayweather's movement & ability to work as brilliantly inside & out nailed me for the vote.
Floyd Mayweather is the best boxing technician over the last 5 years IWO. ;D

I'd have to say PBF for his ability to do everything but again, i think Hopkins comes close and also JMM stands out for me although he is not as good on front foot as back, his defence and counter punching are awesome.

you can't say everything, 1 punch ko power plays into everything :\. Would be kind of hard to compare any of these fighters to Roy Jones had you not put 'Over the last 5 years' in the topic O0

I'm surprized that Marquez didn't get a single vote. Besides being a good counterpuncher he can adapt midway through a fight. In his fight with Barrera he figured out Barreras counterpunch and pretty much put a stop to it which helped bigtime in winning the fight. Mayweather although a technically sound fighter he is not a technician.
Since when have you seen the guy set his opponent up, create traps, use tactics and strategy. None. He's a good fighter, but he's usually the pick your spot, name your shot type. Guy's like Marquez and Marquez had a gameplan coming into their fights, and were very capable of changing that game plan during the course of the fight.
