Tickets For 'The Fight' Sold Out In 1 Minute
BBC Sport - Mayweather-Pacquiao fight tickets sell out in minutes
Only 1000 tickets were made available to the public. The other 15, 500 for sponsors, promoters, celebs, money men, well connected. Prepare to see Paris Hilton, Brad Pitt, Will Smith rolled out for this one.
It should have been the other way round. 15,500 to public and 1000 to sponsors.
I heard MGM kept about 5,000 tickets for themselves. Another agency bought a block of 3,000 to resell, and employees received about 1,000 between all of them. That means there were less than 5,000 tickets available for sale, considering the arena only holds 16,000 people.
I guess that's why it sold out so quickly.

I'd rather watch them comfortably at home on a big screen (especially this fight) than sit at the back row and have to pay up my hard-earned cash on top of that.

It takes the piss if you ask me. Majority of those celebs and rich twats wont have a clue what they are watching and are just there as a status thing. Most of them will spend their time tweeting about it without any clue of what boxing really is. Just unfortunate that the public who may appreciate the sport more just didn't get the chance to go.

But boxing was always a toff kinda event. It was always for the well connected... black tie affair, after dinner in a private warehouse, etc... so, this is boxing getting back to its roots!

As I've said before don't call people peasants when you can't even spell the word.
