P.R. rising star Felix Verdejo scores TKO to win WBO regional title

Last night in Guaynabo, P.R. Felix Verdejo scored an impressive TKO win over Mexican Marco Antonio Lopez to win the vacant WBO Latino super lightweight title. Lopez failed to make the weight by an astounding 4.2 pounds. :rolleyes:

Nevertheless, Verdejo put on quite a show, finishing Lopez off in the 5th round. Full fight below. On the fight before the main event, another local fighter, Christopher "Pitufo" Diaz made quick work of Mexican fighter José Bustos. Fight also below.

Felix is the real deal I think. Every time I see him he looks better.

I like him, @IamInuit .

He's a good kid, with a good heart and expresses himself well. In the boxing ring, he's got that valuable combination of speed, boxing skills, and tremendous power. He goes equally well to the head and the body. I'm hoping he goes far, 'cause he'll be a great ambassador to the sport from Puerto Rico. We're kinda needing another star by now.
